Worst restaurant at WDW?

Hollywood and Vine for us! Great service but food was all "warm". Everything tasted bland.

Loved steaks at Coral Reef... it seems that for a seafood restaurant, don't order seafood!

Loved food at the Spirit of Aloha too! So go figure!

Per usual (although this thread is still in its infancy), when one of these threads is started you will find in time that nearly every restaurant is mentioned at least once.:rolleyes1

:lmao: You're right. Every restaurant is going to have one of those days when things don't go right. And you're certainly going to find folks who don't tollerate certain things when others don't see anything wrong at all. If a certain restaurant was consistently bad, Disney would have changed it, fixed it, or shut it down long ago. Restaurant revenue is too precious to Disney for them to allow a truly terrible restaurant.

But, that said, I don't agree with having McDonalds on property. Disney is my fantasy world and its just cheapens the look of Disney to have them there.

Normally I'd agree with this thought. But the continued bad reviews of several of these places (Fulton's comes to mind) really makes me wonder about that. I suspect that as long as there are enough uninformed new guests going to WDW that these places stay pretty full, then Disney doesn't have much reason to change them.

I've never had a bad meal at WDW. There's a couple I won't do because of personal taste. Boma and Chef Mickesys for example. Fultons? I love the place. I've never had a bad experience there.

I have two places that I will not frequent: Bongo's and the ABC Commissary.
At Bongo's, we were wedged in, the service was poor, and the food was okay at best.
At the ABC Commissary, the food was warm at best and it lacked taste. It is perhaps the worst meal that I have ever had at WDW.

There are lots that I don't care for, but as of this trip, the worst for me is Cosmic Rays. In the past I've found it OK for a quick meal. But this time I left most of the food. The burger was dry and tasteless. DS wouldn't even eat the fries.

This is where we always eat when in MK. Always liked the food.

These are the ones that we will NOT be returning to:

Marrakkesh
Coral Reef
Nine Dragons

I would have to say Chef Mickey was the worst for my family. The place was dirty and the food was dry and not a good selection. Cape May was also very disappointing. We have had bad experiences with both these places in the last two years. I guess I am starting to see a pattern. I also notice that the restaurants in Mexico and Japan show up alot as places people had bad meals. We also ate in Mexico. We would not return there again. Coral Reef was also not one of our favorites. When I think about a place that I thought had decent food worth the price I would have to say only one comes to mind. That would be Kona Cafe. Lets just say I don't keep coming back to Disney for their food. One last thought. Thank god for free dining!!!

I'm starting to think I'm going to have to break this poll down into sub-categories.

Maybe three or four different polls:
Worst dinner show (would include HDD, O'hana, Spirit of Aloha)
Worst Character meal
Worst table service restaurant
Worst counter service restaurant.

I would also add on your poll who believes the free dining & DDP has caused food quality to crash.

All you got me sort of worried now. The last time we we're at WDW was in Dec 05/Jan 06 and now looking it looks like the DDP and free dining were just getting started and it will be interesting to see how our old favorites stack up this upcoming Xmas season when we will be there again. Except for a visit in 1985 and maybe 1986 when you could purchase a dining package that actually used tickets and IIRC there were no restrictions, i.e. lobster, steak whatever we've since then always paid OOP for our meals. This time we will get the DDE card since it will pay for itself.

Hmmmm could be an interesting upcoming WDW dining experience.

Hopefully, for our return visit 20 Oct to 20 Nov 2008 (gotta get the use out of our APs and DDE) will at least avoid the free dining window.

My vote is for Hollywood and Vine, we waited an hour past our ADR to be seated (3 people, not a large group) we felt the place looked dirty, the areas around the food were filthy, the food was pretty BLAH and I agree with the previous poster, the ladies room was filthy!! Who woulda thunk that the restaraunt bathroom would be dirtier than any bathroom in the parks?? Our server was nice though but very rushed.

Without a doubt Tony's Town Square for food.

As for dining experience Chef Mickeys, it was so loud and the kids were completely out of control. (I have 5 myself so I know how kids behave and this was really bad).

San Angel Inn & Cantina. Just bad.

ETA: And here is why....I am from Texas and also hispanic, so I know good Mexican food and good Tex-Mex. San Angel isn't even close to either one. The prices are way too high for what you get. At the Cantina, everything just reminds me of Taco Bell. Except for the salsa and queso, but excuse me, why am I paying $4 for an order of plain chips and queso???? At San Angel Inn, it's loud, crowded, and the service is not that great. Food is so-so, and again the chips and salsa are good. But overall, I would rather go someplace else.

I really appreciate your comments. Although I'm not hispanic, DDIL is from Montery area, Mexico and we've eaten many times in Mexico and just over the border here in Texas. I wondered how it compared.

I have to say the worst food we've had was probably LeCellier (I know....we're the minority on this one). The worst service we've had is the Whispering Canyon for supper. And so far we've enjoyed all of the counter services we've had....although we've stuck to things like Burgers...etc.
