Worst Movies ever!

I hated--absolutely HATED!--the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I was dragged to see all 3 against my will. The third one was the worst. I was pregnant and the horribly long movie wouldn't end. I had to walk out of the theatre because I was so uncomfortable and the movie was wretched. DH got mad at me because he missed the ending. I told him he could have finished it because I just needed to get the heck out of dodge.

I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one! I only let myself get dragged to the first movie though, and I seriously took a nap mid way through! We have the extended versions of all 3 on DVD because DH loves them, but I've never given them another chance! They are so popular that I just can't figure out what I'm missing. :confused3

Birth - I got this movie from Netflix in another envelope. I realized it was the wrong movie and watched it anyway. Really weird disturbing movie; made no sense.

Hunt for Red October
Anything Star Wars

and the one I watched Today... Friends with Money (2006) Jennifer Aniston, Joan Cusack. Way, way bizarre. 4 "friends" and their significant others, but no major plot, no end to the story... just very, very weird! 2 hours I'll never get back.

Oscar (Sylvester Stallone)
When a Stranger Calls (remake--the ending was awful!)
I (heart) Huckabees- What the devil was that about????
A Prairie Home Companion- Can you say uninteresting and boring
Buffalo 66-- couldn't get through the whole thing
Liar, Liar (Jim Carrey) Oh, don't get me started on Jim Carrey movies.

The absolute worst movie I have ever watched was Rhinestone with Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton. It was even worse than it sounds.

The English Patient
The Bridges of Madison County
Steamy piles, both of them!

While Manos was a really bad movie, it is also one of the best eps of MST3000, so it gets props for that!

Something's Gotta Give. Bad acting (from some good actors), horrible script, and very predictable. I hated it.

The Thin Red Line. Half the audience left in the middle, one friend went out into the lobby and read a newspaper, my other slept, while the few remaining folks and I kept screaming for George Clooney to show up as we had heard that he was in the last 10 minutes of the film and we knew when he arrived that it was nearly over

I second this one! I went thinking "all star cast, WWII movie, previews look good, critics are saying good things, it's gotta be good". Hey, where's John Travolta been since the first 15 minutes? Ooh, battle scenes ... sheesh, I can barely tell the characters apart ... wait, there's John Cusack, where did he come from? Now we're cutting back and forth between placid native village and a green field with a girl back home and some weird philosophical voice-over talking about life and love and death and loss and war and .. zzzzzzzz ... Oh, look, more combat, and hey it's Sean Penn. More voice over, more .. zzzzzzzz ... did I miss anything? Hmm, George Clooney? Ehh, did I miss anything? Oh, it's over? Wow, 3 hours? Seems like it's been 5.

How this movie got a 79% fresh rating on rottentomatoes.com confounds me. The fact that the same director made "The New World", about the Jamestowne founding, ruined any intrigue I had about seeing that movie.

"Idle Hands" .. the only movie I've ever walked out of. The previews looked like a dark comedy. Turned out to be a waste of time and film and something Seth Green would be wise to keep off his filmography.

"Batman and Robin" .. the biggest villain to comics fans is not the Joker or Doctor Doom, but Joel Schumacher.

Beth76, I loved the LOTR trilogy and thought they were great, but I'm surprised your DH dragged you to a movie you wouldn't like. I go see several movies like that without DW Lauri (especially since "Spider-Man", after which she announced "I have issues" because the hero didn't end up with the girl).

You guys obviously need my DH to go to the video store for you. I swear, they have a box there just for him where the worst movies made are stored and they only pull out this box for their "special" customers. These are movies you have never heard of, and for a good reason.

Two outstanding choices have been Apolocolypto Warriors and Posse. Check them out sometime, if you can find them.

Ahhahahhaah! I had a chapter in my Master's Thesis on the really terrible "westerns" of the early 90s and Posse was one of them!

So was Bad Girls with Drew Barrymore. Not only did I have to suffer through them, but several times for my work.

Just so kids movies are represented, Snow Dogs ranks as one of those times I knew I must love my kids an awful lot to sit through this!

I told my hubby that was 6 hours I was never getting back(yes I know it wasn't that long....it just felt that way) and he could go to all subsequent LOTR solo.

Shrek
Mr. Magoo
and another dang movie I can't remember are the only ones I've stopped/or walked out on. BLECH

I also didn't like Wild Hogs but I wouldn't rate it the worst.

I liked the Blair Witch Project and LOVE the LOTR trilogy. To each their own. Some of you probably feel about LOTR the same as how I feel about many action movies. I can't stand them but only because they're not my thing and not because they're really bad.

I am glad to see others that recognize how truly wretched Dr T and the Women is though. I also hate the last X-Men movie. I am an X-Men fan and I will never forgive the moviemakers for some of the garbage they pulled in that movie.

Anyone remember "Wisdom"-I believe it was Emilio Estevez-or was it Charlie Sheen?? Horrible, horrible, horrible movie. Late 80's I believe. I'm still ticked I wasted time/money on it.

Worst movie ever for me has to be Spy Kids 3D....... DD owes me big time for making me sit through that.
