Worst Meals at WDW?

worst meals is a tie:

planet hollywood at lunch-very rushed and kids refused to eat their food. mine was pretty bad too.

and

ABC Comissary: we were starving and could not find anything with a reasonable wait so went there and all got "hamburgers". have to say everyone ate them up very quickly but taste was more like rice cake or soybean burger- things they used to have at my old middle school back in 1996.
needless to say we all had "issues" 30 minutes after eating. but highly recommend the burgers for a great laxative if you need one while vacationing there.:rotfl:

What time did you get there? I have an ADR for around 2:20pm in a few weeks, and you've made me concerned :sad2:

We just did Afternoon Tea there 8 days ago and it was FABULOUS! One of the highlights of our trip. It was me and my 2 girls. Our server, Angela, was FABULOUS!!! Very knowledgable and informative. Our ADR was for 3:40, but we were hanging aroung the GF that day and saw they were pretty dead at 2, so I asked if we could go in now and they said yes:) The tea sandwiches, scones, dessert, and tea were all out of this world good! They even turned my DD6's tea into iced tea for her:lovestruc She was so happy to have that! The 3 courses were well spread out and we never felt rushed. I think it's also a good value for the money. We will be back EVERY trip for our girls day out;) I would DEFINATELY keep your ADR...have fun!!!

Coral Reef - Horrible service both times we've been there.. there's just something odd about the wait staff..

Rose & Crown. We were all hungry when we left there and got something else to eat. $130 dinner for 2 adults and one child and I was VERY crabby after tossing that $ away.

The places everyone hates on were our favorites! We absolutely cannot wait to go back to Whispering Canyon! My husband LOVED that place and he's usually very picky. We loved everything about it. Our other fave was the 50's PTC & enjoyed the food & setting of the Coral Reef. Goes to show everyone is different! ;)

We absolutely will NOT go back to the Yachtsman Steakhouse. I use to work at the Y&BC taking room service orders, so we'd get food from the various restaurants in the hotel & I remember good things (loved the eggs benadict from somewhere in the hotel!). However, the service was absolutely horrid (we waited 30 minutes to be called in & we were the very first ones there to check-in, with reservations at 5:30 when they opened). Our waiter was okay, but nothing to write home about. The food was disgusting. I would have been so angry if I had paid out of pocket for that meal, instead of the DDP. The Creme Brulee was the only thing worth eating. My husband has said he's had better steak at the Golden Corral!
:scared1: We went to McDonalds that night.

Also, I won't go back to Planet Hollywood. I didn't eat much of my food (it was served lukewarm) and fortunately the waiter had it comped, but still. Husband wasn't crazy about the place, either.

ESPN club. Food wasn't that bad.... that is, once we got it almost an hour after ordering. Not to mention the fact that it came out before our drinks... which actually never made it to our table. DH tried to find someone, but most of the waitstaff shrugged us off, and our waiter disappeared once he took our order (never to be seen again). Finally DH went up to the bar and demanded to speak with the manager-- he was told the manager would be right over to our table. 1/2 hour later we were done eating (still no drinks!), and NO ONE had come to our table. Needless to say we were so aggravated-- and could get NO ONE'S attention-- so we got up and left. Not proud to say it, but my one-and-only "dine-and-dash". They deserved it!

I'm sorry you had a bad time here. We loved Coral Reef. Our waiter was hilarious and with 4 teenagers in our group, he entertained them throughout the meal (not easy!). There's a full review in my TR for anyone who's interested.

Our worst meal at Disney was our last visit to the Sci-Fi. This was our favorite place but after the last trip, we won't go again. At least not for some time.

Rainforest cafe.... I just don't get the hype. The food is mediocre, its expensive and service is usually bad. We have tried it over and over because DD thinks its fun but last time we went I had an upset tummy and was given a hard time for not eating.

I totally agree. The only thing that place has going for it is the cute atmosphere. The food and service stinks.

I also would like to add that Boatwrights was not very good. My meal was okay. I had the prime rib, but my mom's vegetable and shrimp pasta dish was one of the worst things she's ever had. The chocolate cake we had for dessert was nothing special. Definately wouldn't go back. The food court there was better!

I agree about RFC and Norway Princess Meal too!!! Went to all of them for DD bd....she likes Chef Mickey's the best so back we go......I like buffets' cuz I can mix and match :thumbsup2!

First I am proud to say that my restaurant (GFC) was not on this list once!

My worst meal ever was at Pepper Market, absolutely horrible service and food. The server brought our drinks as we were finishing our meal and then had the audacity to remind us to tip her!!

Chefs De France half our party got food, the other half had to get a manager to get our meals after 30 minutes. Meal as comped and we saw the server get reprimanded. In her defense, she was clueless about serving and shouldn't have been a server.

Some of my favorites have gotten bad...Mama Melrose, Columbia House, Chef Mickeys, 50's

And I have given some places a second chance and have been pleasantly surprised and they are now must do's for us...R&C, Coral Reef, Tusker House

I have eaten at every restaurant in WDW many times and have had many good and bad experiences at the same restaurants. Some of my favorite restaurants are some people's worst and vice versa, so the best bet is to try it yourself once to form your own opinion! :thumbsup2

Our list has grown longer just in the last few years. Based on our experiences, we've nixed buffets and all-you-can-eat family style or pre-plated restaurants. Most we used to LOVE, but the quality has declined to the point we can't justify the $ anymore.

Garden Grille (dinner -- poor service, hard to get refills)

'Ohana (poor service, rushed, burnt meats, hard to get refills, forgot birthday that we'd ordered a cake for, even after being reminded).

Cape May Cafe (dinner - poor selection, mediocre food)

Hollywood & Vine (dinner -- loud, mediocre food, messy)

Cinderella's Royal Table (breakfast -- chaotic, rushed, had to practically beg for more food)

Chef Mickey's (breakfast & dinner -- loud, mediocre food)

Crystal Palace (dinner -- loud, mediocre food)

Biergarten (sitting w/total strangers, mediocre food)

Boma (mediocre food)

Electric Umbrella. Dirty, gross food. I tried it again this last trip and it was better.

Pepper Market. I hate the whole set up. And my food was always cold by the time I got everyone's meals together and we were ready to eat.

Maya Grill. Dirty breakfast buffet. Limited options. Rude staff.

ABC Commissary - dirty, gross food. I got the veggie option (falafel wrap maybe?) and it was hideous! And I love falafel!options. Rude staff.

I had forgotten about the electric umbrella.
The first (and last) time we ate there, I had taken our son to the restroom while the others went in and ordered for themselves, since we didn't know what we wanted.
I ordered a hot dog for him, and a chile cheese dog for me.
When the order came, there was one hot dog, with some chile, and cheese wiz on the side.
When I asked about the second hot dog, the staff member told me "You have your order, see, Chile, cheese, Dawg!"
When I showed her the slip and told her there should also be a hot dog, she was less than friendly, and made a big show of the effort required to get a hot dog ready.

I'm so sad to see the Whispering Canyon listed so many times! That is our "Must Visit" restaurant on every trip! We love it. Yeah, the food isn't the best in the park, but we like the atmosphere and think that food is decent. I guess that just goes to show that everyone is different!

We are also trying Sci Fi this trip and I see that it is listed over and over. Are the onion rings at least good?

The worst meal that I remember having at Disney was at Liberty Tree Tavern. I loved the characters in their Colonial dress, but that is about the only good thing that I can say about it.

Maya Grill had a better steak at thr Rainforest Cafe wont go back

50s Primetime it was nasty food, and very boring for the hype its given....wont go back

The food at Chef Mickey's for dinner in Dec was atrociously BAD...The food at our local corral is fresher and has a better variety.. Not to mention the cost difference.. Also, it was so dirty there.............

I'm also saddened by this. I love going to Whispering Canyon! The atmosphere is wonderful and I enjoy the food - breakfast is really good!! I'm obsessed with the mickey waffles hehehe...;)

We had a pretty bad meal at Liberty Inn in Epcot a few years ago. It might have been because we went late at night, but all of our food was cold and they messed up the order. The topping bar was a mess, as was the floor.

For right now, the farthest back that I can remember was 2005. I suppose that the worst meal I've had since then would be at the Sci-Fi, but only because of the food that I ordered, not the service or atmosphere. I ordered the BBQ ribs for lunch when DBF and I went there in 2007. I found them to be very bland and not at all worth the $$. As I remember, our server was very friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, as always. It is still one of my favorite restaurants, and I make it a point to go every trip if possible. I just won't be ordering that meal again! Last time, I had the BLT soup and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

Also, I ate at the San Angel Inn a couple of months ago and while my meal wasn't horrible, it just wasn't my taste. I had the tortilla soup, and while it was tasty, it was nothing to go back to on another trip. The service was wonderful, though, and we did love the atmosphere.

If I were to pick a restaurant that I'd never return to based on service, not being worth the money, etc., then I'd pick Fulton's. My dad insists on going there during every trip, which I can't figure out because he ALWAYS complains about it afterward. :confused3 We had one server a few years ago who was friendly, attentive, and wonderful (they were out of the chocolate cake that I ordered for dessert, and I believe that he even ran to one of the other restaurants to get some for me!), but all others have been disappointing. One day, I will convince the family to skip Fulton's and spend the money somewhere better.
