Worst Meal Ever????

The wife and I would both agree that our worst meal last week was at Cap'n Jacks in downtown disney. We were on the dining plan, but if I had to pay for that meal out of pocket, I would have been upset. It was WAY too expensive, and neither of us really enjoyed our meals.

First off, I'm glad to hear that of all my ARDs, only one was mentioned and only once.

Ok, Raglan Road. The food was good but the service was terrible. Menus, then 20 minutes till drink orders. Then drinks and 20 minutes till food order. When we finished out entrees, we skipped desert because we ran out of time. It took 20 minutes to get our tab. All night long, the service was slow. I think they were under staffed that night.

I totally agree. Cap'nJacks was not good for us either. I had to pay out of pocket and I hardley ate my food. I also felt the place was dirty and the service was not so great.

Boatwrights? We stayed at POR two years ago and I don't think it was worth a TS credit. It got a lot of rave reviews from the board and so I thought it would have made a convenient dinner, but the service was horrid, our waitress couldn't speak very good english and was very "put out" when we needed her to repeat herself. Worst meal of our trip.

I am in complete agreement with Sci-Fi. I hated that we wasted so many TS credits at that restaurant. There just aren't many choices at MGM and this seemed like a cool atmosphere, but just not worth it at all!

We had Crystal Palace for lunch when we first arrived and we were starving so it wouldn't have taken much to please us, but the buffet wasn't that great. It wasn't terrible, but we won't eat there again for lunch.

Blessings!:goodvibes

I also did not enjoy a dinner at Boatwrights and would not return.

BUT after reading the reviews for Sci Fi..... we do have our 1st time reservation coming up - I think we'll just order 2 milk shakes and pay ourselves.;) Now to figure out where to use 2 TS credits at MGM!

i refuse to give my complete order, unless i am in a rush. this happened to us at Kona and it made me so mad! i usually tell them that we haven't decided on entrees yet and to please come back for that order after the apps have been delivered.
as for not getting drink refills. at some point i would have gotten up and gone to the host(ess) podium and asked them!

I think part of the problem with dinner that night is that my 2 year old was just not behaving. I don't blame Coral Reef for that, I just think that because of that I didn't enjoy my meal. We all knew what we wanted for all courses so that didn't really bother me, until everything came out so fast. I wasn't in the mood to do anything with anyone in the restaurant because of my 2 year old and trying not to let him disturb or ruin anyone elses dinner in the restaurant. I would probably give Coral Reef another try but not with the kiddos.

Fulton's Crab House (terrible food and service) and San Angel Inn (terrible service, food wasn't good, disappointed in atmosphere). Also disappointed in the Brown Derby and Le Cellier. Honestly, though, Fulton's stands out as the only TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD meal we've ever had.

Before our last trip, we would have to say that our worst meal all around was at Cap' N' Jacks, hands down. :scared: However... we would eat there again before eating dinner at Chefs de France again. Very disappointing. :sad2:

We weren't real impressed with CRT.

We had dinner there. For the price, it is not worth it. Glad we were on free dining.
Service wasn't good. Food was not good.

Lots of thumbs down for Sci Fi - DH being one of the first to complain (don't order the tuna). It's not one of my top favorites, but it is charming. I just would hate for folks to never experience it because of the negative votes. I've never had a problem because of 2 things:
1. Go at lunch time. It you don't like it, you didn't waste a fortune.
2. Keep it simple and order what you know; hamburger, onion rings, salads, milk shakes, etc... Don't look at the menu and say "this sounds good" because it probably won't be.

You have to admit, there aren't many restaurants like it. So dark and cool, it's a great place to recharge your "batteries." Plus, one time I wasn't feeling well and they brought me chicken with rice soup and cottage cheese.

Rose and Crown -- I hate to say it but it was the biggest mess of slop I have ever seen. Didn't eat a thing!!

Wost meal I never ate:
Marrakesh - The service was so bad, we walked out before we even ordered. Of course, if a waiter had ever shown we might have got to try the food!

Worst meal I did eat:
Rose & Crown - Dry chicken pasty - over seasoned bangers & mash.
Tony's - ranks a close second!

I haven't read thru all of this post, but I have to share mine...Marrakesh, was definitely the worst meal. The servers were rude, it was 5pm and the restaurant was like a library. I had to take my 2yo out for a walk cuz her normal talking was too loud in there. The dancer and music were on for about 5 min and the food was terrible.

50s Primetime Cafe. My hubby's dinner had cold green beans. He sent them back & they were SOAKED with butter. He was so sick from it. Needless to say, we haven't been back.

Mama Melrose's- My brother ordered spagetti and instead of tomato sauce it came with a big glob of tomato paste on it needless to say, he didn't like it. I don't remember what I had but it was absolutely disgusting. I ate 1 bite and that was it. They asked me if I wanted a to go box and I told them no, the waitress looked at me like I was crazy. I definitely won't be making a second trip there.

Biergarten- I thought the food was pretty bad but if you like German food this is the place for you. I would pass on this next time, but the entertainment was very good.

Last December at Tusker House. I had ordered the Turkey Wrap and to my surprise it was served cold and not hot, so it tasted very disgusting and I said to myself I am never eating there again. Plus the service by the Cast Members was very slow and I had gone there after 11:00 AM when they just opened for lunch, so I never expected them to be that slow at that time. So I might be one of the few people happy that the Tusker House is closing for good.

After my family and I had left there we went to Pizzafari because I was still hungry, so I got myself a Cheese Pizza.

We had 2 horrible meals at the Cali. Grill. This was our favorite restaurant! The 2005 visit, service has horrible, food horrible. We thought, maybe a bad night. We went in 2006, the macaroni dish was in 2 inches of butter, my husbands meal was undercooked, so we sent it back to the kitchen and they brought us out someone elses half eaten meal!!!! Then they had the nerve to charge us for it!!! Perhaps we will try again in September, they do have the best mac and cheese!

Tangerine cafe, YUCK!!!! Worst food I have ever had anywhere. Some people like it though, just goes to show you everyone has different tastes.
