Worst Meal Ever????

There were 2 on both on the same trip as I recall.

One was Mama Melrose and the other was Fulton's. Never again for either one!!

Our worst were:

3. Alfredo's -- Really disappointing because the first time we went there in 2003 they were spectacularly good!
2. Trail’s End Buffeteria – Laughably bad “Roast Beef” which the carver had a hard time cutting. Also, we’re still waiting for the sugar-free desert to defrost. (In fairness, when we complained we were given a full refund)
1. The “Outback” restaurant at the Palace Spa (or whatever they’re calling this one-time Wyndham DD resort hotel). My wife was sick for most of our vacation after eating the shrimp there.

There are a few that almost make this list—any of the Mexican restaurants at Epcot—The Backlot CS restaurant at MGM. And then there are others that just rate as mediocre (Le Cellier was a disappointment).

However, on average, are meals at WDW are VERY successful!

:) Alfredo's in Epcot. On two previous trips we had eaten there and had wonderful meals, service, etc. Last Sept. we went back and the service was awful and the meals were just as bad. Our waiter was downright rude and never refilled our water glasses and then stormed away in a huff when we didn't give him an extra tip on the bar bill (already had added 18% to the check which we thought was unusual). We used the DDE card for our cocktails. Our party consisted of 4 adults and 2 toddlers. Needless to say, we are not sorry to see this one closed and hope that the replacement is much better.

CRT Dinner in Sept. 2005. I had the rack of lamb - DRY, tough, and flavorless. I was really wishing I'd gotten the prime rib, but was too "nice" to ask for something else. I don't even remember what else I had (appetizer/side), but they must have been just OK.

But I must be crazy - I have ADR's there again this Sept. and it's 2 TS credtis this time. Hopefully the food is better.

mine may have been Donald's Breakfastosaurus. the food that should have been hot was cold and the cold food was warm. it made golden corral look like 5 star dining!

the characters came about 35 minutes AFTER we were finished eating. meaning that all the folks waiting outside to eat weren't getting tables because the characters didn't show up to work on time and no one would leave.

when the characters finally came out they spent about 30 seconds with each family and ran off.
:sad2:

It truly is amazing to see how each of our experiences differ so much....what is bad for some of us; is great for others. That's what makes the world go round,eh......

Now to the question........

Consistently bad...bad...bad...is Sci-Fi. I continue to give it another chance because my wife and daughter like it but the next meal I get there that I like; will be the first. Last time I just had a green salad and even that was pretty sad for a salad.

Also...two bad meals at Mama Melrose for me. Definitely not going back there any time real soon.

Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic package last September - we've had better food and service at a Golden Corral.

We were also a bit disappointed in Chef Mickey's for dinner last trip - it was ok, not bad, but nowhere near as good as we remembered it being from our trip 3 years ago. We waited about an hour past our ADR, and it didn't seem very clean - lots of food on the floor (under the tables and around the buffet). We chalked it up to being a later than usual for us mealtime - we typically eat early, so there hasn't been enough time for others to make a mess.

Mama Melrose, ate lunch there and had the "eggplant parmaigiana" and it looked like the size of a ritz cracker with sauce on it, it had NO flavor.:sad2:

Big River Grille at Boardwalk was positively the worst meal and service I have ever had anywhere. There was no one else in the restaurant for lunch and we had the slowest service and the worst food. We will never go back again.

Hollywood and Vine Play and Dine buffet was the worst we experienced, food was not hot, service was not good and took forever for the characters to come to our table.

Worst ever for us was San Angel Inn last week. Cripes, was it ever horrid! We've always dined there in the past and it has gone downhill in a bad, bad way. The chips used to be freshly made and hot - I swear now they're Tostitos. The services was astoundingly bad. We were seated immediately, but our waitress was borderline rude and definitely uninterested in working for her built in 18% gratuity. The iced tea was instant, blech, and my meal came with mashed potatoes and a vegetable. The potatoes were INSTANT - not even mixed well - there were clumps of flakes in them. The veggies were frozen peas and carrots.

My son's nachos looked and tasted like what he makes at home in the microwave. Tositos with cheese melted on top. Canned jalepenos and a squirt of sour cream.

We were told what our dessert options were - not asked if we would like dessert, not offered coffee, etc.

I wouldn't go back there to save my life.

Hands down- Narcoosee's in '05- left there shaking our heads- and we are not picky people by any means. One quick example, i ordered prime rib medium, it came out rare so i asked them to take it back. They put it in the microwave and brought it back- YUK!!:sad2:

What is the worst meal you've ever had at WDW?
QUOTE]

San Angel Inn.... it's not that there was anything 'wrong' with the food but it really lacked in flavor and warm at best. Pretty slow service and we felt packing in like sardines. I'd say the atmosphere makes up for the food (at least during free dining lol) :rotfl:

toss up for me......on honeymoon in 1997 ate at Alfredo's and I almost died when the waiter walked out with the veal that I had ordered...I felt like Fred Flinstone with the brontosaurus bones hanging off the plate.....literally the bone was hanging off the plate and to boot it was horrible tasting......

Other option is Rose and Crown....went there in Nov. 2006 with girlfriend (who hails from Ireland) and we aren't the pickiest eaters (just like our food hot when served) and between our fish and chips and my 2 girls kids meals....Yuckkkkkkkkkk Everything was cold....not even lukewarm, cold and the waitress never came back for us to have it fixed.(thank goodness this was part of our dining plan because it would have been worse when the brought us the $120 bill ...with no alcohol mind you....and if I had been paying that OOP I would have not been a happy camper)

I looked forward to it but my meal from 50s prime time was just sooo crappy. I had the fried chicken meal & the food just had this "wierd taste" to it, the chicken was semi ok but the mashed potatos had a wierd spice in them or something, then the greens were extremely salty, the waiter even told me he didn't blaim me for not eating them, he didn't like them either!

I agree with the comment about how we all have our different moments. Now I have to add mine.

Both on our trip this June.

First was Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. Long wait. Great atmosphere and seating for us. Food was average at best. Never agian.

Second was Sci-Fi Cafe. Service was slow and food was below average. The atmosphere was great unitl the same clips were played over and over agian. Did not like having to sit behind my wife in son.

Ok, I'm putting my flame retardant suit on, for us it was... California Grill.

We had a great table, next to a window with a beautiful view of the Magic Kingdom, but, the food was unimpressive and the service was mediocre. We left without ordering desert (which never happens, never ever happens) 15 minutes prior to Wishes. We practically ran out of the restaurant, could not get out of there fast enough :sad2:

Service-wise, any of the meals we've had at Fultons. A far as food goes--probably a long time ago at Liberty Tree Tavern, when Mrs U was served severely undercooked chicken.
I hasten to add that by and large, our dining experience at WDW restaurants over many years has been very good!!!!

We had eight in our party when we visited in april. Out of all the places we ate the rainforest in dtd was the one we least enjoyed. Food wasn't bad but just nothing special and took quite a while to come out. Also some items on the menu were served cold and this was not mention anywhere:confused3 We also don't plan to do wc again either. This again wasn't bad but for the money i was expecting more. The atmosphere also wasn't had good as i had heard about on the dis board
