Worst Meal Ever????

This post is too funny. What we see as our worst meals, others have had as their best and "must do" meals.

For us, it was Rose and Crown for my 40th Birthday. We did have a great view of the fireworks (seated outside), but the F&C were so greasy. My DH had an upset stomach all night. I keep asking him to try it again (this was almost 6 years ago), but he will not forget his night in the bathroom and refuses to try it again.

The only other really "bad" experience we had was more w/service than food and it was Narcoosee's. We went for our anniversary back in 2002 (so this has been 5 years now). When we were seated, the restaurant was fairly empty (around 5:15 or so). It still took almost 15-20 minutes for a waitress to come and ask us if we wanted a drink and even acknowledge us. We had just agreed that if no-one came within the next minute or two, we would be leaving.

Having such a rough start, we were very pleased with the food. One of our best meals on property.........HOWEVER, when we were done dining we presented our DDE card, which was promptly refused. Our waitress said she had never heard of such a thing. We asked to see the manager, only the intern was available. She, too, had never heard of the Disney Dining Experience card and would only give us a 10% discount - and only on the food (vs the 20% the card is entitled to and that includes drinks). We paid our bill and voiced our displeasure to DDE, the actual Manager of Narcossee's called us and asked us next time we came to let him know and he would do something nice for us. But, the next time we were at WDW he was unavailable. We tried for 2 weeks before our trip to reach him but he never returned our numerous calls.

We've never returned.

For me its a tie:

a) The San Angel Inn...it was so dark I couldn't see my food and it tasted awful...I'm not a big fan of Mexican food though...but seriously what the heck is a chicken morsel? I didn't know chickens had morsels...lol...and they really didn't taste like chicken.

b) Rainforest Cafe at AK....I ate breakfast there once....it made a surprise return about 2 hours later in a urinal near Africa...I was shot for the rest of the day...icky.

c) Cosmic Rays...the food has ALWAYS been awful for me. Never enjoyed it...

For me, I will never go back to

1) Flying Fish - I was served raw chicken and the waiter didn't care.
2) 50's Prime Time - No flavoring, crappy service, even my fiance who loved every other meal of the trip said he never wanted to go back there
3) Crystal Palace - the food is just gross. The only thing I enjoyed there was the rolls and the ice cream.

Out of many many meals, only two were bad.

The Cantina in Mexico was horrid. Six of us ate there, no one was happy. I swear the "salsa" is nothing but ketchup & water. Everything was cold. congealed and stale. Just dreadful.

The other was ABC Commissary. Not inedible, but just not good.

I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed every other meal, snack and beverage at WDW.

It's a tie!

Ohana's was absolutely terrible. Service was extremely slow and the food was tasteless. We couldnt even get silverware. Try eating salad without a fork!

Alfredo's was another loser. The waiter whispered to my husband that Italians would never order meatballs in a restaurant. He also told me I couldnt drink a coke with dinner. I should have wine! The food was overcooked and not tasty. Maybe the waiter had a point about those meetballs.

The Grand Floridian Cafe. We were there for 2+ hours for dinner, our server was terrible! :sad2:

Ohana's

Thought I was at an all you can eat CHEAP buffet. Only the price wasn't cheap :rotfl2:

I don't think I've had a horrible meal in WDW. However a few stand out for not meeting expectations. Le Cellier and California Grill both fall in that category. Neither had bad food by any means just not the quality or imagination I had expected from reading reviews on this board. I found myself wishing that I were eating in the Tangerine Cafe.

Now that I think about it the worst food I've ever had was at the Cantina in Mexico. But I was really hungry and my expectations weren't high so it doesn't stand out like the others.

Even though the atmosphere is awesome, I have to agree that the food at San Angel Inn is horrible. I think eating there once for the ambiance is something people should do, but now that I have, I probably won't be back until there is a big menu overhaul...........

Our was Hollywood and Vine.

The food was very blah and the atmosphere was very dull.

The worst part of this was the service. My wife who normally does not drink, wanted to try a mixed alcoholic beverage. The waitress checked her ID 3 times and then took our orders. Everyone elses drinks arrived except my wife's. We asked about the drink and then she said she would come back with it. We ate most of our meal and we still did not get the drink. We asked a second time and she went back to get the drink. When she returned 10 minutes later she checked my wife's ID a fourth time. Eveyone else in our party was ready to leave by the time she had her drink.

The waitress never cracked a smile and bairly said two words to us. We had an early dinner that night, so it wasn't even busy.

you guys don't be hatin' on golden corral ... it rocks :goodvibes

Ok.. even if this is sarcasim, I have to say that Golden Corral is one of our favorites... especially the breakfast and "steak night" :ssst: But maybe that will give you an idea of what we personally expect?

Let me first say that even our family... would be disapointed for the price we pay and for the quality of food we recieve. I think the two go hand and hand. Disney food isn't exactly cheap... and I DO expect TS locations to be pretty top notch. I expect my service to be good and for my money to be well spent.

So as for the worst?
Chefs de France in 1997. I have no idea what was on my plate... but it was smothered in a thick THICK white sauce with noodle stuck to it. I'd been fine with lipton "insta-noodles" in the bag...

Sci-Fi over the years. To be fair I love it here, but then again, rarely did I ever pay the bill (thanks mommy  ) Mom on the other hand, hates it. Refuses to eat there now. We both agree the atmosphere is "out of this world" and everyone should try it, but we won't return. The food really isn't that great, limited offerings, and just not worth the price in our book.

Chef Mickeys breakfast. I know I'm a minority, but this breakfast was a waste. Total disapointment and I won't return... I don't care what anyone else in the party says. I thought the character interaction was poor, the food offerings lacking, and service was iffy. I can twirl my napkin at home.. thank you very much.

Pecos Bill: :scared: roadkill on a bun baby!

For our upcoming trip we have reservations at Le Cellier, Crystal Palace, Mama Melrose, Cape May Cafe, Planet Hollywood, Donalds' breakfast, and Coral Reef. All of which, popped up on this list :lmao:

I will probably get an earful...but CRT. Hate it!!!! Food is lousy and so not worth the money. The place needs a refurb, and service is not that great.

Chef Mickey's for Dinner and Nine Dragons also for dinner were just horrible last year. It was my husband's first time ever in Disney, and he was less than impressed with the food.

Our worst meal was at The Brown Derby. The food was fantastic but the service was AWFUL!!!!

We have never had a bad meal...yet.:)

Hollywood and Vine.

We saw our waitress twice, when we ordered and when she brought our beverages. It was steamy hot at MGM when we were there 2 weeks ago. There was seven of us and they sat us in a booth (not easy seating for a buffet). We were all very thristy and downed our drinks in a matter of a couple minutes. She never came around for refills. I finally sent my son to find someone to help us and another server got us seconds (but we would have ordered thirds if we had the opportunity). The finished plates were never cleared, so I started to pile them on the table next to us because we had no room. We also had to steal the silverware from that table because we were not given enough.

Then another server comes to that table and makes comments about our dishes. She sits an elderly couple there after grabbing our stack. She didn't clean the table or get silverware. I felt terrible. This little two seater table was practically attached to our booth. We soon found out this lovely couple was there celebrating their 40th anniversary! Poor them.

We went to the bathroom before leaving, but found a huge line for the ladies room and nasty toilet areas.

Yuck.

Tonys! It was awful. DS who LOVES spaghetti would not touch it after first bite. We went to Caseys right after and had dinner there.

Sci Fi. Took forever to get seated,Bathroom was broken had to go all the way to the one by Indiana Jones (doesn't have anything to do with the food, but didn't help) service was very poor and extremely slow, When the food finally came it was terrible! My DH's sandwich was wrong twice, my Corned Beef was the toughest thickest sliced corned beef I ever saw or tried to eat. Forget what was wrong with my DD's food but it wasn't great. The only decent thing was my DS's kids grilled cheese, We won't be going back !

I think that we had ALMOST the same experience!! We wanted to eat there because of the atmosphere!!! That was the ONLY good thing. Service was slow. Food was not to our liking!!! We thought the milkshakes were good. But the service was not good at all. AND THAT WILL MAKE OR BREAK A GOOD MEAL FOR ME!!!

Tonys! It was awful. DS who LOVES spaghetti would not touch it after first bite. We went to Caseys right after and had dinner there.

We did the exact same thing. Food was awful!!!
