Worst change in the last 10 years...What do you miss most

Cinderellabration!

Hah, just kidding...my vote is for Adventurer's Club. While I miss the original Tiki Room a lot, too, the closure of AC makes me ache. I'll sometimes just be walking along and the thought of it pops in my head, and it makes me sad. There is probably nothing they *COULD* close that would bother me more than that. (The Tiki Room's also not as bad because I know it still exists in DL...)

Other than that, really nothing. I accept that change has to happen in order for there to be improvement, and that even though not all change leads to improvement, without it comes stagnation which would be worse.

First and foremost Adventurers Club was my favorite place at WDW.

The Original Journey into Imagination is greatly missed, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Getting rid of length of stay passes(I believe this help the demise of PI), Introduction of DDP brought down the quality of the restaurants, Alien Encounter was awesome, Unique souvenirs are gone.

That being said I can not wait to go back.

I have a few attarctions that I miss alot

- The Old Mexico Ride

- The Old Spaceship Earth

- Tinker Bell's Treasure

- Body Wars and Cranium Command

- Old People mover

- Old Parades at Magic Kingdom and Epcot

- I also miss the old contemporary food and fun center

- I actually don't mind the new dining policies. If you play your cards right you can still have nice, spontaneous dining. And you can still find a quiet atmosphere in nicer restraunts if you go at the right times.

These are just a few of the attractions I miss

I miss walking into DHS and seeing the beautiful Chinese Theater as the park's iconic centerpiece.

Not that I'm anti-the giant hat. I just wish it had been located elsewhere, such as at the animation building or something. But the Chinese Theater was a gorgeous centerpiece for the park, and really brought the Hollywood theme to life when it could be seen from most angles of the park. Now, there are only a few small spots where you can even get a full-view of this structure.

I miss the old Tomorrow Land Transit Authority Narration...a couple of years ago the first day of our trip we rode the ride and things were the way they always were...then 2 days later the voice and narration was different and it was TERRIBLE. I miss hearing "Paging Mr. Morrow...Mr. Tom Morrow"

We love the People Mover (I never ever used that "other" name). We were just there in December and they must have gone back to the old recording because we heard "Paging Mr. Morrow...Mr. Tom Morrow" every time we rode it.

I miss the bus drivers talking to you and giving out bits of trivia. It was a nice little bit of magic, and some of the drivers really seemed to love it.

ME TOO!!!!!!!! However, it would INFURIATE :headache:me when people would loudly talk over the bus driver like he/she didn't even exist.

I miss the E-Ride nights where you had to pay $10.

I also miss the ORIGINAL Fast Pass where only Disney Resort guests could obtain them. You get little to no benefits/bonuses for staying at the resorts anymore.

Wow. I would have loved E-ride nights. I had no idea that Resort guests were once the only ones that could use FP. And here I thought I was getting great deals for staying on property.

I miss
  • bus drivers that talk to you
  • "Paging Mr. Morrow" (Hope the previous poster is correct that he's back)
  • Characters with short lines
  • The original "Journey into Imagination" with Figment and Dreamfinder
  • the occasional unexpected "magic" that would happen
  • being able to actually GET a lunch ressie at the Castle - and their beef barley soup!
  • High quality food well prepared - we used to ONLY dine out at the world because dining there was so special
  • Wonderful Hot Dogs at Casey's Corner
  • All the beautiful plantings they removed to make more and wider walkways
  • The time, not so long ago, when being at Disney World seemed to bring out extra courtesy in fellow guests (instead of 'me first')

"Paging Mr. Morrow" (Hope the previous poster is correct that he's back)

He's back, but not in the same place, and it's not the same wording. When you enter Space Mountain a female voice pages Tom Morrow and asks him to report to Mr. Johnson about his trip to the moon ("Mr. Johnson" was also in one of the previous narratives).

Too many posts to read to see if mine are already posted but:

Eastern Airlines ride (where the Buzz Lightyear ride is now)

River Country

SkyWay ride

being able to park at the Poly and walking to the TTC

The cream of chicken soup at the second floor restaurant at the Poly.

And what do I miss most of all???

Cast members who act like they really enjoy their job and working for WDW instead of the sloppy, lazy and indifferent cast members they have now.

(Now, before everyone flames me for this I need to say that I was a castmember for 5 years, not every castmember working now is lazy, and yes it is hard to have that Disney magic for minimum wage, but if you're working for the mouse, it's expected of you.)

I was going to start a thread on this topic so I was so happy to have stumbled across this one during my search. I miss many of the things previously stated, such as: Horizons, the original Journey into Imagination with Figment (I talk about this almost monthly and HATE the new version), the Hunchback of Notre Dame show (I was seated next to the stage on one visit and got slapped in the face by the tail of the lobster as he ran down the stage. It was the highlight of my trip :lmao: and I always talk about it), Dreamflight (I think that's the name. It was the ride that had to do with flying and airplanes), the original backlot where you could actually see a working studio and watch people completing costumes (and I loved being chosen to ride on the large bumblebee), the original Spaceship Earth (I HATE the end now), Food Rocks, seeing characters wondering through the parks, and being able to walk onto most rides without crowds. Growing up, my parents always took us out of school to go to WDW around mid-september and the parks were dead. I always enjoy thinking of all the wonderful memories I have, but get sad that so many things have changed or gone away completely.

This thing is old and I'm sure I posted this somewhere on here, but here are my worst changes:

Extra Magic Hours - bring back E Ride Nights.
Captain EO - I shrunk the Audiance was getting old, but this is bad.
The ride at the Mexican Pavilion - Old ride needed updating, but this is bad.
oh yea, how could I have forgotten,
Free Dining - Has affected quality of food dramatically.

Haven't had time to read thru all the posts, so don't know if these have been mentioned: DTD- I REALLY miss the Adventurer's Club and Comedy Warehouse. Why, oh why couldn't they bring them back? If not at DTD then maybe at the Boardwalk or one of the Resorts.:confused3:confused3

I miss the YOAMD promo...the song they used from Peter Pan gave me goosebumps.

I can live with most of it....but PLEASE bring back the Adventurer's Club!

Oh- and dining plan has all but ruined the dining at DW. I am not even considering some of the choices I used to adore.

Kungaloosh!:sad1:

Definitely Wonders of Life! I never rode any of the rides in the pavillion and I really regret it!

I loved the Adventurer's Club on Pleasure Island. I also had a fondness for Mr Toad's Wild Ride in Fantasyland in the MK. The little Alpine skyride was nice too to view the park from a bird's eye view, the building is still there but the skycables and cars are gone. I also remember being at the opening of Toontown and then my last visit in Oct 2010 I got one good last look and walk down memory lane as they were closing it forever. Which of course made me tear up as I had fond memories of my now 18 year old as a then 5 year old playing in the water at Donald's boat and his first rollercoaster ride on Goofy's Barnstormer. All of which is now history and gone forever. Wow how time flies! I also really enjoyed the British Invasion that played Beatles tunes at Great Britain world showcase. DH and I had a great time singing along and tapping our feet and dancing in the streets to them on our last visit. Cha cha cha changes... I'll miss the old but can't wait to back to WDW and see what's new like the Beast's castle and all the new Fantasyland progress though.
