worst attraction - now or ever?

It has been 17 years since I was last at WDW, but I'm voting for Astro Orbitors. And while I cannot judge the new Journey into the imagination, I will miss sharing the old one with my kids! I loved it! And I enjoyed food rocks as well. I didn't realize that it is gone now too!

Maybe someone can help me with the name of the attraction - I forget. It was at MK and was a film - something with kids running through a field of flowers. DH and I saw it in the early 90s but it closed shortly after that. I always thought it was written by someone on a bad acid trip.

That was Magic Journeys. It was pretty mental.

Swiss Family Treehouse
closely followed by Honey I Shrunk the Audience
[I have yet to experience Stitch. Last time I was at MK, this was still Mission to Mars].

Journey Into Your Imagination, all of Dinoland, the new Tiki Birds (love the original!), except Dumbo any of the rides that just go in a circle like Astro Orbiter or Aladdin's Magic Carpet, Sounds Dangerous, and Stitch's Great Escape.

that one would get my whole families vote as well...8 of us to be exact. Yikes...the smell alone makes it yuckky! I also have to admit that I did not like the Astro Orbitors at all or Dino Land.

My dislikes: Astro Orbiters (I never ride it or Dumbo or Aladdin. Guess I'm a big boy now lookign for something more exciting). I guess then I could say the Flying carpets as I've never rode those. Dumbo gets a pass 'cause it's Dumbo.

It pains me to say it, but Star Tours. I used to love this ride, and I will always go for a ride when I visit any park that has it, but nowadays it give me a headache. Maybe it's that it's too jerky in its movement, I donno. As an attraction I still love it, as a ride, eh. I guess I was also spoiled in Las Vegas, where one of the Star Trek rides is basically the same, but instead of a small viewscreen to see everything, there is an Imax screen which allows the motion and photography to work much, much better with one another.

Honey, I shrunk the Audience. Was enjoyable the first time, but I have no need to see it again.

In response to some posts:

Indy Speedway and 20K are/were I thought important rides in Disney history. Autopia was and is a major part of DL, and on opening day (of DL) there's footage of The Rat Pack riding this attraction. A car ride like this seems to be a must at any amusement park or county fair, 'cause it's great for young kids.

I loved 20K, and the idea of putting real fish in it probably wasn't the safest thing. For the added maintenance, cleaning and well-being of the fish, the ride would have been that much more expensive to maintain. Consider the breeds, all of whichwould have to be kept in seperate environments with the salt, pH and temp all kept within certain parameters. Besides, it worked well with the movie, and was also based on aclassic DL ride... One soon-to-be Nemofied!

Rides on this list which I enjoy, or lean towards favorites: Stitch/Alien Encounter, Space Mountain (a little surprised to see that on this list), Mission:Space.

And anyone who wants to see the original Tiki Room, just come out West!

I would have to say STITCH, not because I've been on it, but because I have no desire to after everything I've heard (not just here). In fact, we were discussing my upcoming WDW trip just last night and my sister told me her entire family HATED Stitch, that it was the worst ride ever.

So our vote is for STITCH!!

Mission to Mars -- you sat in a room and the floor shook ----ooh. I'm not the biggest fan of Stitch but I would take it over M to M anyday.

And the new Tiki Room -- why oh why -- the oddest words spoken by an Imagineer -- "What this attraction needs is more Gilbert Godfreid"

I vote for Sounds Dangerous. Biggest waste of time even if it in a cool and dark room, still not worth it. I think MGM seriously needs to think about scrapping this one and starting over.

Speedway is terrible. Only kids that can't wait to get their drivers license do it. Also, Mike's boats.
After they wait on line for this their probably old enough for a real drivers License. :sad2:

imagination! i miss the old one. i took my bf to wdw for the first time last year and he kept telling me he couldn't believe how bad it was. i tried to explain to him about dreamfinder and how it used to be. such a shame they changed it.

I am trying to keep the tally - but what is ITA?

ITA is the new ride at Epcot -- International transit Authority -- it is a shuttle that travels around the World SHowcase.

Just kidding -- it means I Totally Agree

Astro Blasters, Stitche's Ride and the Indy ride in Tomorrow land. I am hoping the popularity of CARS will revamp that ride. :car:
Yeah, I don't care for the Indy ride, but if they changed it into "CARS" characters, that would be pretty neat!

the last 7/8ths of small world. At first it's ok, then I'm ready to dunk my head in the water to turn off that blasted song...... maybe they pipe the music under water too!!!!
But if I only get one vote I would have to say Mission: space. It's the only ride that has made me so sick :crazy2: I had to sit it out for about 2 hours.

But as for the rest of the list, many I don't care for, but I don't really care one way or another. Just call me "wishy washy" :confused3
