Worries over STVS

Please help!!

Seeing as theres a thread been started about Randy i figured i would start one a bout Stan from STVS. We ve booked him for our wedding next year as i had seen a few vids he had done & thought they were lovely, deciding factor was after we watched Summer Caitlins.

Well im having a few doubts that we ve made the right choice , i ve mailed him questions in the past & have on a couple of occasions have had to chase replies after leaving weeks & weeks go by. A few times he said that "he thought he had replied" or that my message never showed up which seemed weird as my sent box said it had sent (everyone else always seems to receive my emails). Then he said we would receive our contract via email in a day, a week & half later it had nt shown up so when we chased it we got a kinda blunt message saying that they had been busy.


I know people like Stan & Randy etc etc get very busy work wise but in comparison i ve never had any problems with Randy, hes always replied whether it be in a day or over a week & he always comes a cross as being super friendly. I ve just got a bad gut feeling that i may of booked the wrong person to video our wedding & kinda need some reassurence from other ladies/men who ve used STVS.

You made the right choice, I promise. I just finished proofing my video and let me tell you...it is AWESOME! He is a super friendly guy & he probably really was busy...its hard to sound friendly in an email lol. Anyways...you won't be disappointed when your big day comes
 
I am using Stan and he replied back to me pretty fast. I had to wait a few days to receive my contract but his secretary Bonnie told me that they are really busy right now. I think that when you go with the more popular people that is what happens. I have reverand Jack Day and it took him 2 weeks to respond to me. I know he is very popular and a busy guy so it didn't bother me. Stan is a great guy and does excellent work. I am sure its just because he is really busy but he does take the time out to talk with you if you do have any problems.

I know she was great!!! They are both really funny and helpful! I can't wait to work with him!

I would trust your gut. Some people just do not mesh well together.

I have been around on these wedding boards for what seems like forever ( I was engaged prior and planning a Disney wedding but he turned out to be a frog) and I have heard mixed reviews. I think sometimes a vendor gets so many good reviews that they get bombarded with work that they can't handle and so the quality of their work and customer service start to go down.

I have heard other brides complain of the lack of response and the time it takes to get their videos back and the quality etc.

Now I haven't used Stan and don't plan on it so I am just commenting on other comments I have heard.

Point is - if you are not happy try to get to the bottom of it by calling him etc or researching other vendors. In the end you need to be happy on your wedding day and if you aren't you will feel uncomfortable and perhaps regret your decision.

I have been through 2 makeup and hair people because of poor communication etc. I just can't trust such an important element to someone who wants to dump me after the courting phase - what I mean by that is that they suck you in with great customer service until you are booked and then they drop of the face of the earth.

Anyways, I digress...

but that was 12 weeks ago, and now I'm just a big fat pregnant lady :rotfl2:

Thanks for your opinion, i just cant shift this bad gut feeling i have!! Im gutted as we ve already paid him $350 so if we pull out we will lose that money. I could be wrong wirth my instinct. Its nothing to do with him being very busy to delay replying. Its the fact that i ve been told hes replied to me when he has nt & that hes not received my mails when i know they ve been sent. It just does nt add up?

I just dont think its professional to tell a client after they ve parted with money that they ll send you out an important document & then not to follow through. I guess i was a little peed that i had to yet again chase something that i had been promised .

Waiting for replies is not a problem as long as i eventually receive one, but to have to chase a few times gets a tad tedious after a few wks of waiting . What i meant about coming off as being freindly is that even in text you can at least say "hi" or say something nice but everything was to the point, kind of the opposite approach that i ve received from Randy

I have received the contract now but it took for me to chase them to get it. I was told id get it in 1 day, wk & 1/2 later i mailed them saying we had nt received anything. I was then told they d been busy so i would get them in few more days. We was nt impressed but when moneys already exchanged its not like we can do anything.

I just wish everything ran a little more smoothly, you guys seem to have had great experiences with Stan & Bonnie which kinda reassures me. As long as our vid turns out great is all i really care, it would just be nice to have had a slight better start to working with them.

At least im 100% happy with Randy, cant fault him with hes communication, super lovely guy
 
we got ours late as well but i emailed him the other day about music and he took a day to come back but he was so friendly in his email.

I havent seen a video as good so I'm glad we picked stan to do our wedding

When I have trouble getting people to reply to e-mails I have a read receipt attached to e-mails. That usually gets people to respond the first time they read it and it doesn't get lost in new e-mails.

I hope everything works out well in the end.

Thats a good idea :thumbsup2 , i will def do that in the future when mailing them. Am hoping though that future communication with Stan will not be so complexed. First impressions are a very big deal to me so this has just made me a little wary, still we ve parted with $350 so we just have to hope for the best & go with the flow.

I trust all you ladies when you say hes great, we do like the footage we ve seen so fingers crossed
