Worried about Radisson at the Port

When we stayed there in January, the first room we got had a disgusting smell, and I mean disgusting. We are not complainers but even I said, we have to complain about this! But, they were really good about it. Someone came to our room within five minutes and they immediately relocated us to a very nice suite - we were happy for the upgrade but then again, if the hotel had been full, where would that have left us?

My only complaint was that the walls were paper thin. I heard everyone running around at all hours and I am not a light sleeper. I found it super annoying that parents let their kids run wild after midnight and music from the nearby banquet rooms could be clearly heard in our room.

What great pictures, Webshots is an amazing site. Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that the drink station on deck 9 isn't self serve. That must be a pain in the butt when it's busy?

Thanks again.
Frank

I read back thru the posts on this thread and don't know where the deck 9 drink station came into it but that IS self serve. There is more than one set of soda & cup dispensers so there usually isn't a big back up.

I normally book well in advance at the Rad. Plus we have stayed there a few times. They have always been great to us there and try there best to make us happy. Wow I had never heard anythign negative until I read this thread. I hate some have had a less than great stay there.

From what I have been told there the room you get depends on when you check-in. If you check-in late then you get what is left. If you check-in early they try there best to accodmate your requests. We normally check-in early so we have always been very happy with our rooms.

If it matters, we checked in at noon.

Be aware that if you plan a December cruise that this hotel gets booked for people who use the banquet rooms for parties. There are two, one right next to the hotel and one next to the parking area. We could clearly hear music from both well into the night, including the DJ PA system. This is because the one near the parking lot is in a quanzit hut-style building.

Avoid a first floor room facing the parking lot at all costs.

We stayed tehre three times already and always had nice room,s no dirt, no ants no bugs no smells etc.....we found it a very nice place to stay and I am truly picky about the hotels I will sleep in.

We checked in at two, but had one of the suites. Don't know how many of those were available to move us around to. We were told this was the only room available.

We had a wonderful room. I believe it was 333. It was a parking lot view, but I was also able to watch the Carnival Glory leave on Sat. afternoon.
I couldn't see the Wonder on Sunday AM because Mariner of the Seas was hiding her.
It had a "split bath" too. There was a pedestal sink in with the tub and toilet, then the vanity was outside. I thought everything was nice and clean.
DH complained about the hard bed, but I thought it was great.
