My kids do not like the menu options at either Spoodles or Flying Fish----a little too eclectic and fancy. My kids are teens and they did like Cape May where we just ate on Sunday. Beaches and Cream was always packed with nowhere to really sit. So for us, dining in this area, doesn't really offer all that much. If it were just my dh and I, we'd try these places. But with 3 kids, it just wasn't their cup-of-tea. I'm sure it appeals to some though.
It is a shame you did not get to try Spoodles or Flying Fish. They are 2 of WDW's top restaurants, especially the Flying Fish. The Flying Fish and it's chefs have won quite a few culinary awards. That is one of our very favorite restaurants at WDW. Both Spoodles and Flying Fish have a children's menu that you kids might have liked. It is really for little kids, so it is generic, little kids food, since usually teens have grown to have more sophisicated food palates; or kids like ours, who were ordering off the adult menu at age 4. They have been eating "eclectic and fancy" food and have refused chicken nuggets and PB&J since preschool. I am sure your teens could have ordered off the kiddie menu, if you had explained the situation.
There is also the Yachtsman's Steakhouse, The Club Galley, ESPN, Big River Brewing Co, quite a few restaurants in Swan & Dolphin and many restaurants in Epcot all within a short distance of the Epcot resorts. There really is a very large variety of restaurants in this area serving a vast variety of cuisines. I am surprised, you did not realize this.
The excellent views from the Epcot resorts are not just from the rooms. Just walking around the resorts, it is possible to see parts of Epcot and MGM, Illuminations, Fantasmic, the Friendship boats, waterways, the boardwalk, etc., plus the sheer beauty of the resorts themselves and their lavish grounds and flowers. As in all resorts, some rooms have better views than others but on a whole, the views from the Epcot resorts both in and out of the rooms are very, very nice. I can not see how one could dispute this.
We have stayed at BCV and BC and YC many times. I never saw BCV's that faced the front driveway of the BC. At BWV, yes there are standard view villas that face the front driveway but I can not think of any villas at the BCV that face the front driveway. The BWV's that face the front driveway are a distance back from the road so I doubt exhaust fumes would be a problem. We never get these villas, we are boardwalk view folks, so I can not be sure about the exhaust fumes.
Hope you enjoy the remainder of your trip at Vistana and OKW. Tell Mickey hello, for us!
