Worried about my size...!

I have read that at Disney now, the CMs dont pull down the restraints for you on the rides. I am not massive but when I go to UK themeparks like Alton Towers, the staff have to give me a little help to push the restraints all the way down.

I am worried now that I wont be able to ride at Disney and Uni/IOA as they wont help me pull the bars over my head etc!!

I understand its a health and safety thing but I dont want my holiday ruined after spending so much money ...

First of all the CMs will need to check if your restraints are properly in place.
So if you struggle with them, the CMs will have to help you, otherwise they wouldn't be able to launch the ride.

Now I wonder if this concern of yours doesn't qualify for a GAC of some sort, you can call Disney or explain your concern at guest relations once you arrive.
And in any event, if you have any need, just ask the CMs at the ride, and tell them about the assistance you need. Try it by yourself at first, if you manage, then you're good to go. If you don't, then don't hesitate to tell the CM at the ride, they're really helpful

As I said I am not massive I just have a big baps, lol! So I tend to struggle with the restraints that go over my head!

i don't know about universal - where there are size issues (DH can't ride several rides because he's too tall!!) - but at WDW there aren't many rides that have a size issue. in fact, i'm trying to think of any that do...

when there are restraints, they're usually automatic - they close on their own...
and then you go by a cast member who checks to make sure that it has locked down...

i haven't been on rock and roller coaster so i don't know what the restraint is like on that one, but most rides at WDW are in the form of a bar that automatically moves back into position.....WDW isn't really a thrill ride sort of park so for the most part the restraints are not of the thrill ride type...

on tower of terror, each seat has a seat belt.....i assume it would be long enough for you....they have lots of large size guests, so i would guess the seatbelts in tower of terror are big enough..

i can't think of anything else that doesn't have a bar that moves back automatically.....and then is checked by the CM as you go by...
plus they get a light on their control panel if the bar isn't in the locked position..

oh - dinosaur at animal kingdom also has seat belts.....but again, they have a panel of lights indicating who is locked in and who isn't..

bottom line, WDW shouldn't be an issue for you....
i can't tell you about universal, as i hate it and have only been 3 times....i'm not familiar enough with their rides to provide information..

The only one I found uncomfortable was Mission Space. I'm a size 10 so not huge, but my chest was horribly squashed!! I'm a DD cup and if I struggled people with huge baps would find it horribly uncomfortable.

CMs in my experience a couple of weeks back always helped with the restraints though, so don't let tht worry you!!

Also I found on the Harry Potter Ride at IoA I was pulled out of the line, as I expected to be, to try the other seat for the fluffier person and the staff were really nice about it and I didn't feel the least bit uncomfortable - they told me what seat i should ask for to ensure that I did feel safe on the ride

There are test seats at universal so you can try before you get in line. On the coasters with overhead restraints there is a row for bigger people (3rd row? - cm will discretely put you there if required).

It's very much down to how you carry your weight and how tall you are - I think universal you are ok upto a 50 or 52 inch chest.

My DH could't ride harry potter - he is 6ft 4 tall and a 3xl shirt.

My friend who I went away with last year is 6ft with rather large baps! - 40EE

She had no trouble with Disney or Seaworld rides:

It was, however, the other parks with problems:

Busch - was just swell she liked animals!
NO RIDE : Gwazi, Cheetah Chase, Kumba, Montu
YES : SheiKra

Universal - not too bad
NO: Harry Potter (having fit the test seat - could not get on main ride)
YES : Hulk, Duelling Dragons

She did recommend a good sports bra if you need to 'flatten' yourself a bit.

I found on FJ I was too busy concentrating on keeping my lunch down to worry about being squished I am tall too, 36" inside leg and that doesn't help matters. If you're also tall, be prepared for some bruised knees!!

To be honest my 'girls' are not as big as that but I hadnt thought about buying a sports bra to ride with! Thats sounds like a good idea

I am glad she got on the Hulk because that is one I am looking forward to going on and was panicking I would have to miss it! I will however be gutted if I cannot get on Harry P

I thought about taking a sports bra after my first trip as I have a rather large bust, however after the first day of the next trip I decided to go back to regular well fitted bra/bikini top as the heat was just awful! Nothing worse than sweaty baps!!

I'm not going to be much help other than reassure you like others have KittyKitty; I was 42 DD on last trip & was fine; friend we travelled with is also well blessed on Bap front, she was fine too (although this was pre FJ). I just wanted to say Thank You for starting this thread - having a stressful day at work and all the comments have really made me laugh - as well as empathise - I agree nothing worse than sweaty Baps

I just want to give you a little encouragement. Prior to our last trip in May, I had put on a lot of weight and was concerned about Universal after reading some conflicting information here. (Stress eating is a pain! Taking it off now, WW is my friend.) I had a bra fitting before I left, and I was a 38G (OMG) at 5'9" tall and I fit on every ride at Universal and Disney no trouble, including all the Harry Potter rides, Hulk, Rip Ride Rockit... In fact, the only one that I found uncomfortable was the lap bar on Ripsaw Falls (but not enough for me to not want to go on it!!!)

Don't stress, based on what you've posted here you'll be just fine.
