Worried about going

We leave next Tuesday to go to DL/DCA. I am a bit worried now all of a sudden. Can't decide whether to go or not. Stupid terrorists.

I second the GO!

We'll be there next week. Our daughter will scare them away. Works wonders on the in-laws (JK). :D

The security seems very buttoned-up around there and everyone needs a break from the TV...even CNN junkies like me.

Definitely go - the odds of being directly impacted even in the worst terrorist attack (can you imagine worse than Sept. 11?) is very small - ourbiggest risks in life remain fatty foods, lack of exercise and driving to work.

I've flown several times since and in the very unlikely event some nut (or terrorist) tries something you can bet 30 passengers will take care of the situation!!

(and the airport security - at least flying out of SFO - is definitely a new experience... no Fastpass there anymore!)

Went last weekend...was scared before I went, but everything was fine! Had a lot of fun because less people are there. A lot of rides/restaurants closed though, could be for many reasons (economy, fall season..). I haven't been going lately but after this last "feel better about the world" trip, I'm beginning to plan another trip for the holidays! Go and have a great time!!

I see you are from Lawton, Ok. I am in Muskogee!!!! Small world after all!!LOL!!! We will be in DL next week too...we leave tomarrow. We are driving, so we will be there late Sun. or early Mon. and I am too excited to sleep!! I haven't been to DL in 4 years and we told the kids we were going to St. Louis, so I am excited about surprising them!!! I know what you mean about being a little nervous, I kind of am too, but I wouldn't let that change my plans. I love DL and our wonderful country too much to cancel. Go and let the whole world slip away while you are there! We all deserve a break from all this bad news. Just be aware of your surroundings, and use good common sense, and have a great time! How could you not have a great time...You will be at DISNEYLAND!!!!
:D

If you don't go, the terrorists have won in a sense. They want to spread fear. We just got back from DL and felt very safe. Keep you eyes and ears open and don't walk through any clouds of gas!

Roy :-)

* And if you see the Disney security running away from something.....FOLLOW THEM!!!!!!!!

We went through the doubting too. GO! We'll be arriving Oct. 22nd GC. We can't wait. Like I said in another post if we had changed our plans than the bad guys win. We plan to travel lite, have fun and say our prayers.

Have fun!

Yvette

I normally wouldn't "push" someone to go, but just having returned from there last week, I would also say GO! Don't live in fear.

Also, Disney has taken amazing steps toward security. I know that security was very good before, it's just that it wasn't so obvious. Now, they check everyone's bags before entering the parks, and Disney Secuirty (who my boyfriend refers to as D.P.D.) and even Anaheim police were everywhere. Universal is installing (or maybe has installed them by now) metal detectors. We saw them when we were at City Walk last week.
