We have reservations for CB in July and I am starting to second guess our selection of resort. We chose the CB because of its "beach" feel and DH and I stayed at Port Orleans for our honeymoon 10 years ago so we wanted to try something different. We have a DS (5) and DD (2 1/2) and chose the mods over the values partially based on the pools with slides which my son loves. I guess I would just like opinions on whether the mods are worth the extra money and if I should rethink my decision to go with CB. Thanks for any input! :confused3

Not sure what your concerns are but CBR is a great resort. One of the nice things about CBR is each village has its own quiet pool. If the main pool is crowded you can always go to a quiet pool. Your kids will love the beaches and playground.

We love CBR!! It has beautiful themeing and great sandy beaches with hammocks. The food court has alot of variety, and the bus service has always been great. The room's are a nice size with two double sinks. When my girls were younger, we would stay at Martinique, Building 25, because it was real close to the food court, main pool, and the bus stop. But now we usually stay at Jamaica which is a short walk over a lovely bridge to the main pool and food court. We love everything about CBR - the beautiful tropical colors, quiet walkways, the friendly ducks, etc. My daughters don't want to stay anywhere else.

I may be the minority, but I did not care for CBR when I stayed there in 2003. I was only there 2 nights, but was ready to check out day 1. It was just way, way too spread out for my taste, plus I did not care for having to walk across a dimly lit parking lot to get to my room at night from the bus stop.

I'd recommend switching to POFQ. This is a great resort and my nephews still remember the slide when they stayed there years ago. It's a small resort, so it's a quick walk everywhere, plus the boat to DTD is a nice plus.

CBR is large, there's no getting around it, so if someone is looking for a small, cozy resort, CBR isn't for them. But I would echo everything Linda T said. We also loved the theming and landscaping and didn't find the size to be an issue. We stayed in Jamaica and enjoyed the short walk across the footbridge and island. Bus service was prompt, and we didn't have any issues with the parking lots - they seemed adequately lighted for my taste.

We loved the CBR. My kids are dissapointed that we could never return to CBR (because now we are 5..the baby is over 3 years old). We stayed there in Nov 2003 & had the best vacation ever...yes better than our stay at the Poly!

The staff was very nice, offered us a corner window, water view upgrade when we arrived. We stayed at Martinique building 25. Very central to everything..right next to the food court, main building shops, & the main pool. I'd request building 25 if you want to be close to everything. The beach & hammocks are so relaxing. We could see the fireworks from Epcot from our room. One night we sat at the pool bar & had some snacks/drinks by the fountain & just relaxed (there was a lunar eclipse that night)..very beautiful.

We loved it there, but now we are doing POR AB since due to room max. Have fun!

We loved CBR, just stayed there in January for a week. It is very relaxing, loved Port Royale, and the fact we had our own little pool in our section that no one else was using. It is very peaceful and quiet. Another plus is the fact you can watch Epcot fireworks everynight from the bridge if you want to. Do not second guess your reservations, you will LOVE IT! :cool1:

We were there in 2001 and did not care for CB. The main thing that we disliked was our DS's were 4 & 2 and after returning at night from the parks with a double stroller the last thing we needed was to carry the stroller, with 2 sleeping kids, up 2 flights of stairs. If going with small kids that you know you will have a stroller or will have to carry I suggest to request bottom floor. Also with small kids you may want to request a room closer to the food court. CB is very spread out. We were in Martinque and my DH had a long walk to get snacks. They do offer busing to the food court, however, my DH said it is faster to walk than to wait for a bus to come.

Ironically, a month later after our trip we got a phone call from Disney asking how are stay was. You can bet my DH give them an earful. Funny too that we have been there 9 times and that was our only time getting a phone call how our stay was.

Don't worry about CBR. We have stayed at every moderate and several of the deluxe resorts and CBR is fine. I think it is actually my favorite mod--in fact, we just got back from CBR on Sunday. We stayed at Port Orleans when our kids were younger, at the time they were 6 and 2 and they loved the pool and slide, but now they (9 and 13) think it is too baby-ish for them.

You can drive yourself crazy second guessing, but the bottom line is that all resorts have both good and bad points depending on individual taste.

We really loved CBR-relaxing beach theme, beautiful grounds, comfortable spacious rooms, pools are great, transportation is great...dont worry!!! :teeth:

Two thumbs waaaayyy down for CBR from me!! I thought the pictures on the WDW website were amazing. I thought CB would be beautiful.....boy were those pictures decieving. What a dump!! We booked 2 rooms for 6 nights in 2003 after the refurb was completed and we were ready to check out right after we saw the rooms. All I can say is yuck!! The main pool was gross and that beautiful beach that they show on the web wasn't so beautiful up close....

Whatever you do prepare yourself for a TON of walking around the resort because the resort is huge!! I would never go to CBR again.

I don't know where you stayed at CBR because after the refurb the rooms were great. I have lots of photos from my personal stays at CBR and many people have commented on how nice the resort is.

For anyone that is interested I also have pictures of the rooms and I don't think you will say yuck when you see them.

Everyone has different tastes in resorts but CBR is a very nice resort.
