Worried about Cabin Assignments

Hello Disney Cruisers. I am sort of new on the DIS boards. I joined last year and posted a thread before we left for our Eastern Caribbean Cruise aboard the Magic. It was everything we hoped it to be and my children (ages 4, 9 and 13), including my husband enjoyed the trip so much. Truly unforgettable. I am now asking for your advise on how to resolve our dilemma with regards to our cabin assignments. We could not get a connecting cabin due to a fully booked West Coast cruise on the 2nd of July and now our family of 5 will be split into 2 cabins and they are not even close to each other. We really wanted to get on this cruise but we're worried that having 2 separate cabins quite far apart will make it too difficult for us. Any advise? Thanks.

HI, I do not have any advice firsthand...Except, is there anyway possible for you all to sleep together? Like if 2 young ones could possibly share a bed? That way you could take full advantage of extra bathrooms for getting washed and ready!!!!!!!!

Maybe just use one room for storage? Just trying to think of ways to make it easier..That is what I would do, we spend SO little time in the room..

HTH :goodvibes

that really stinks!

I think I would try calling DCL directly and inquire about the possibility of upgrade to a room that sleeps 5 or putting you on some kind of waiting list for adjacent or connecting rooms. Or what about a downgrade to connecting rooms in a lower category?

Could you change your vacation date? Maybe a later cruise has availability with connecting rooms.

Good Luck

It does stink, but, if you are planning on making the best of it, we relied on the phone, and our walkie talkies. My mom had a separate room, not very close, and we would leave each other messages, or call when we were leaving. Just an idea...... not ideal, but, an idea....

hi there if you upgrade to a cat 4 room then you can all stay in the same room i stayed there last year on the wonder and i am doing the same this time. it will also put you up on the 8th deck and it may work out about the same price.

happy sailing

Maybe you can get an inside and and outside across the hall from each other. :confused3 Sorry to hear about your dilemma. I hope they can do something for you.
We will be on the same cruise as you. Come join our thread on the cruise meets. The more the merrier!! Amy :flower:

I am also on the July 2 cruise. I don't understand how they come up with the cabin assignments! I booked a GTY cabin and just got my room assignment a few days ago. We are in an adjoining room. I was actually not that happy with the assignment because I've heard the sounds from the adjoining room can come through the walls. It's just my family of 4 in our one cabin. I'm not sure who is in the adjoining cabin, but they must have booked it in advance. If disney asked me to give up my adjoining cabin for an upgrade I wouldn't have any problems with that :)

Maybe try calling disney and see if there are any adjoining cabins that have not been reserved, and see if they can move the people in the other adjoining cabin.

Good luck. We can't wait for July!

Hi there Amy had a good idea We are a family of 6 and we get a cat 11 inside cabin across from us. the first time I was a little concerned DS 14 DS 9 so I did bring a baby monitor with us and 2 way radios the baby mon worked like a charm when I thought they were up too late I just picked up the phone and told them to go to sleep. I did not think they needed a deck so inside state rm is great Try all you can so you can ENJOY yourself and not make yourself :crazy:good luck Have a Great Cruise  LS
