Worried about bad reviews of GF on Trip Advisor

Hey there! Okay I am one of the people, not on trip advisor, never heard of that website before so thank you for letting me know about it with this post, but someone who has left bad reviews for the GF.
Were we grumpy? OH YEAH! lol We were grumpy though because when we got back from the parks one day a lot of our clothes, my wallet (mind you this was a few years back when I was young enough to go with my family, I'm 23 now so it's about 5 years back now), and my stuffed animals (yes I know an 18 years old who collects stuffed animals, what can I say? *sheepish grin) to all have been stolen! STOLEN From our ROOM! The door was locked b/c my dad is insanely neruotic about making sure doors are closed. We understood that things happen at all resorts, so figured it would be fixed to the best of hte GF's staff's ability when we reported it. After standing in line patiently for 20 minutes (really, we were not miffed about that b/c were used to lines already) we explained to the CM what had happened. They told us that it could not have happened. We assured them it did, and asked if they could help us since the only people with room access (since we had ALL our key cards) would have been GF staff. Until the CM turned their back (literally) walked away, and started helping someone else for 10 minutes!!!! We finally called them back amazed at their rudeness about a serious matter! Now until then, we had found our abysmally bad luck very amusing, but after that we were grumpy, I'll admit, but nice anyway. (You get no help if your not nice and yelling, and were believers in good behavior at WDW). Anyways, long story short, they finally got us a manager, who said they couldn't help us. They didnt evne promise to look into it or anything, and blew us off. We'll never go back b/c we don't trust our belongings to be safe.

The same thing happened to us at the Beach Club one year. We had our airline tickets stolen when a lost ticket affidavit cost $50 each. It costs us an extra $300 just to get home. We went through the same song and dance
and got very little satisfaction but simpathy from the room maid, who seemed suspicious of the new mini bar attendent. I was quite dismayed when I got home and spoke to security at WDW and discovered that they could have pulled the room lock and checked all personnel who entered the room 72 hours after the loss. That was never done. I posted my concerns on Prodigy, someone faxed my OP and 128 replies to Disney management and the hotel manager finally called me. At the time, Delta was the official airline. We were given $300 in travel vouchers and an upgrade to concierge for our next trip which I was willing to book after the situation was responded to. I don't think that ever would have happened with my phone calls alone because I wasn't getting to the right person. The duty manager was the person that I was dealing with, even after returning home and never reported the incident to the resident manager.

That being said, our circumstances were extremely rare and I honestly believe that you will have a fabulous honeymoon there anyway. We still managed to have a good time despite this:
Hurricane Jeanne (sp?) hit 9/26/04- the day after our wedding and the day we were supposed to arrive in Disney World at our Concierge level honeymoon suite. The flight was cancelled and after I spent most of my wedding night trying to get through to Disney, I finally got through and told them we couldn't arrive until the 27th.... Fast forward to arrival at 11:30pm on the 27th. We get there and our honeymoon room has been rain damaged and they checked us into Sugarloaf instead. Long story short, I asked many times during our stay if the damage had been fixed as I was told to do upon check-in. Each time I was treated rudely and without checking, everyone told me "no". At the end of the week when I tried to check out and get the money back (there was a 1500$ difference), the manager of concierge basically told me I had never even been booked in a honeymoon suite (they had changed the screen when we checked in accidentally). After treating me extremely rudely, she called me back and profusely apologized saying we were right and our money would come by check in a week. It took three months and a letter the the GM og the GF... we finally got our money, but were treated so badly (when you read how well disney treats others on their honeymoons) that we will not stay there again. We are trying the HM suite at the WL for our first anniversary hoping that my faith in Disney will be restored. Sorry that this is so long.. I think and hope that this would be a rare occasion but I thought you should at least know from someone who had a bad experience on their HM.
