Worried - 10:05am flight w/Avis

I didn't give this much thought because on our last cruise we were at MCO by 8:45. Has anything changed as far as procedures where by we may not make our 10:05 flight? We have reserved a rental from Avis. thanks in advance

Sounds a little early to me. I don't think our ship was cleared to debark until around 8AM. To get your luggage, rental car and get on the road, you will be cutting it close to get to MCO the requested hour before your flight. Will your car be waiting at port for you? If debarkation is delayed, you may get to MCO too late.

Wow! How in the world are you going to do that? I'm glad you're thinking about it now, because I'm worried about your plan...

You're supposed to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to your flight. THAT would be 8:00 a.m., right? I don't think they even let you off the ship until 8:00 a.m. or so. Then you have to catch the AVIS shuttle to AVIS, rent the car, drive the 45 minutes to MCO, turn the car back in, etc...

Sorry for us all being so pessimistic.

I also think that is too early for using a rental car.

We had a very smooth disembarkation and were at MCO at 9:20 using a limo (Southern Elegance - and it was great). When you add in security time and the short wait for the tram at the airport (depending on which airline / gate), I think you might be too late.

So if you add in rental car waiting, I don't think there is a chance.

We took Disney transportation and were at the airport at 9am. But they dropped us off right at our airline area.
Is there anyway that you could switch to a towncar service, so that you can trim some time at the rental counter?
