World Showcase ?'s

What shows around the world are good/fun for young kids? Is Japan's candy making still going on, or did the lady retire?

I have a almost 5 & 9 yo They both loved Epcot last time (3yrs), stopping at kidcot stations. This time we will snack around the world and just get stamps in autograph books....what else do you think they would like (I am not interested in KP misisions)...any suggestions?

We didn't go to it, but the Japan candy making still takes place. China has the acrobats (new troupe as of October 2011). DD7 loves running around the hedge maze in the UK garden.

The world showcase kidcot stations have 'Duffy' on a stick--you still color it with Sharpies and go around countries to get stamps. China, Japan, and Morrocco will write the child's name in their languages.

Sergio in France or Italy (can't remember right off) was pretty entertaining - ours were 10 and 12 at the time, held their interest pretty well for a while.

Also we did a couple of the Kim Possible missions - this was their favorite by far.

It depends on your kids. The best thing about World Showcase entertainment is you can simply let your kids sample it. If they don't like the act, move on. Nothing is a commitment. You can get up and leave (if the act has a seating area and very few do) or just stop for a few minutes. My husband and I have seen every single World Showcase entertainment and I can tell you what WE like but I highly doubt I can tell you what your kids would like because I've never met your kids and I have no idea of their interests. Don't mean to sound harsh but how can anyone tell you what your kids would like? Even your kids won't know that until you are there.

Don't rule out a KP mission. They are quite a bit of fun...DH and I tried one on our last trip and we plan on letting our niece and nephew do them this summer when we go. They will be 8 and 6, saw it on the video and thought it looked like fun. There are boat rides in Mexico and Norway also.

My kids bought Duffy bears in Canada & I made them look through all the countries and see every outfit before I let them buy one. They were really occupied by shopping & didn't fuss about me browsing the stores that way.

There was a dragon dancing in China they enjoyed. The drums at the outpost. We talked about facts of each country as we went through them.

They loved getting in the phone booth. It was like something out of a museum to them to learn that phone booths used to be everywhere. I even got asked- but why didn't they just use their cell phone!!!! They were both thrilled when I called them on the phone. I think it was the highlight of the WS for them!

The CMs were all nice and some of them took extra time to talk to DS5 who was asking lots of questions.

I would have NEVER thought of calling them in the phone booth....GREAT idea!

I was just looking for general ideas. If there was a show that a lot of people who had kids said they enjoyed, I would see what times they would be there/it would be showing and make sure we hung around. No, no one knows my kids and none would be definitive, but it's nice to have ideas We sampled a lot of different things last time, but only saw the candy lady and a drum show (china?) b.c both kids were interested. Just wondering if there was anything new or something that I could easily miss. (maybe a good photo op?!)

My kids especially enjoy Off Kilter (Canada), MoRockin (Morocco), the acrobats in China, and Miyuki (the "candy lady").
