World Showcase entrance/exit?

Hay all.
I had this plan on a night with my parents to, after spending some time in Epcot, take the nice scenic walk from World Showcase entrance/exit that goes through the Boardwalk/Swan/Dolphin/etc. and goes straight to Hollywood Studios.
Wanted to go there to make it for the Star Wars fire works. Then I realized that Epcot closes at 9pm.

What is the option here? I'm guessing I can't be let back inside Epcot through that entrance after 9pm, so is the only way to get back to my car in Epcot by taking the bus/boat from the Studios? Or is there a walkway of sorts we can go as well?

You can't enter after the park closes and there is no way to walk from HS to the Epcot parking lot without going through Epcot. Buses won't be going to Epcot after it closes either. I suggest parking your car at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) at MK and taking the monorail to Epcot. After you walk to HS and see the fireworks, take a bus from HS to MK, the Polynesian, Contemporary or Grand Floridian and then use the monorail to get back to the TTC and your car.

Are you doing the rope drop thing at Epcot? If not, how about parking at HS, taking the boat or walking up to Epcot, spending time at Epcot and then walking back to HS as planned for the fireworks? Or, you could park in the overflow parking lot across the street from the Boardwalk Inn and walk to Epcot, then HS, and back. Both these options have you entering Epcot through the International Gateway.

Nah, not rope drop. I dont want this to be a super long day. My parents will do any park usually, but at least for this instance, we'll just have time for Epcot (they wanna do the updated Soarin' and eat in Germany again).
I wanted to make it seamless to bounce to HS for fireworks without having to do the busses or parking at separate park (not that its a HUGE to-do, but i wasn't sure if that Gateway was the only in and out in the area for walking).

Yeah, you're right. The best choice is probably just park at HS to begin with, take boat to Epcot, and walk the way back when its cooler.

Also, I know the overflow parking at Boardwalk, but is that open for anyone to park in at any time? Is it more so for Boardwalk guests, rather than someone who's gonna be at the parks for 5 or 7 hours?

Yeah, I'd suggest parking at DHS as well, or BW, TC, BC... but resort parking can be a bit tricky, since you're not a resort guest. :teeth:
The boat ride is nice and the stroll back is really cozy in the evening. Watching the BW and the lights around BC and YC... just beautiful! :woohoo: :dogdance:

:tinker:

Resort parking lots are for Resort guests.
