World Of Disney - Nyc

There's this store near my house called World of Disney in Manhattan. It's awesome!! It's just like the world of Disney store in the Marketplace, but it's themed, so you'd have mickey holding a torch like the statue of liberty and, for example, my sister got my this for my birthday, it says 'Staten Island'. It's so cool. ALot of things they sell there are sold at Disney World. http://destinations.disney.go.com/wod/store/index <<, There's the website. It's NOT a Disney Store like you find everywhere, it's totally different.
So she got me:
Antenna topper that says NYC (the Y is mickey holding up his arms) Mickey coffee mug, coffee, coco, and the wonderful shortbread cookies that I LOVE!
Oh, also they have the actualy characters there sometimes. Not fake looking, they are the real thing. Check out the website! http://destinations.disney.go.com/wod/store/index

This store is awesome. When we lived in Brooklyn, I used to take my daughter there all the time. We would make a special day of it. The store is located at 55 street and 5 ave. It is a few blocks south from Central Park and right near FAO Scwartz. Which is on 59th street. My daughter was just talking about that store the other day! It is nice to go there in the fall when you can take time to stroll in the park, see the Central Park Zoo, check out the polar bears and then head to the Disney Store. My daughter and I would take our time on each floor of the store (there are three plus a basement) and look at everything. We could easliy spend a few hours there!!! They used to have a travel agent in the basement level and very nice, clean ( of course) bathrooms. Trust me, when you are trekking all around Manhattan, it is nice to know where clean, public bathrooms are. If you are ever in the city, it is a great place to stop in and visit.

I live on Long Island and will be in Manhattan this weekend - will be sure to stop in the store. I've been obsessing about making sure I pick up a Disney antenna topper on our first trip to WDW this Sept, but if I can get an Antenna topper right now (and one that says NYC on it) that would be completely awesome.

I went there in December before Christmas and it was packed! It is much smaller than the one in DTD but it was still fun to walk through. I bought a pin similar to what you explained with NYC and Mickey being the Y with his hands in the air and I bought a few postcards since I collect them.

Just be careful parking your car around there!!! My sister, who just went there last week to get me my birthday presents, got a $115 parking ticket because apparently it said meter parking after 6pm, but she lives in NJ and didn't realize. She even had the meter ticket in her windshield, but still got a ticket! She said to me "here's your presents, and you owe me $115" LOL...
