World of Color Superthread

yes i did that thank you hydro guy :worried: ooh shoot i guess i will just have to wait till the 19th to see on my own accord... :worried: i just wanted to be apart of opening night.

i guess i can always go see Glow Fest.. but then again , how busy will it be in DCA for WOC @ around 6pm? like wall to wall people???? :worried:

Ok I am still confused even after reading everything I could find:

We have dining reservations for WOC at WCT for 6:50 but what is the earliest we can line up for our viewing of WOC? We want to line up as soon as possible! And where we will go, will it be right there in the viewing area or somewhere else first?

THANKS! I am in my room at DL hotel resting up for tonight!

After you pay your bill, you will get a FP (ticket) for WoC. It will have a section. (yellow, green, etc....)

You will then go line up at the designated spot for your color at the time stated on your FP (outside of the viewing area). At the end time on your FP, CMs will lead your group (of several 1,000) into your designated color area of the viewing area. Then you wait for the show to start.

The FP says to return btw 7:30 and 8:30, I know I won't be waiting until 8:30! Our dinner at AG is at 6pm, so I imagine we'll be done around 7ish and then will just go line up. That's taking up a lot of time to see one show -- glad we'll be at DLR for a few days. :)

Thanks for the play by play! Am waiting with baited breath to hear how the rest of it goes.

So in your situation, you will be able to line up outside the viewing area at your color's designated area starting at 7:30pm. You will wait until around 8:30pm, at which time a CM will lead your color group into your designated viewing area. Then you'll wait there until the show starts.

Have a great time. It's an amazing show!

i guess i am gonna be the ONLY one not seeing WOC tonight..DRATZ!!

I won't either...:sad2: July 7th, we have a PS at WTC for 5:30 with two of our friends. I hope things have calmed down by then, people waiting out there at 6AM, thats just nuts! I've seen it several times from the Villas, and I'm sure it will be even more amazing from the viewing area, but I'm just too old for this camping out stuff.

Let me know what it's like tonight. Crowd control, waiting, moving to the viewing area, and anything about handicapped accessibility would be great to know!

...anything about handicapped accessibility would be great to know!

There are areas within the various colored sections that have benches. These are wheelchair accessible areas. The benches are for those with wheelchair guests so they don't block the view of those in the wheelchairs. I would guess they are also for anyone with walkers or other special needs like crutches, maybe?

You will get a FP and line up like everyone else. Then, the CMs will pull the guests from line that are in wheelchairs and bring them to a line right next to the line you were just in. (So, for example, if you are in yellow, there will now be a little line next to the yellow line of yellow with wheelchairs.) They will then lead the guests with wheelchairs (and their friends / family) to the accessible area for your color. This is from where you will watch the show.

Is there a diagram that shows where each colored section is located?

The color assignments will change nightly.

ETA: This is not the entire area, but I have yet to find a photo of the entire area. This shows the tiers though, so it is helpful for those trying to envision the area.

I would assume the Preferred viewing (dining package) will always have the same color in the same area.

I can't wait to see how tonight goes.

That's what Albort and I were commenting on.

The word was that every night they will change what each section is called so that guests don't have any idea what "blue" means so people will not try to switch, change, etc....

That would not mean that the Preferred Area would change, but what it is CALLED would change.

However, Albort is saying that he has heard that is not the case any longer.

It really doesnt matter, though, is the point. You will get your ticket. You will have a color. At that point, your section is determined. Hop in line and enjoy the show. :goodvibes

So no one knows which area is which color?

ETA - Anyone nkow where the viewing area is for the picnic meal tickets?

Nope. If you order a picnic meal you will get a FP to be in the viewing area. Which section is not known.

I hope they don't mix up the colors. It just doesn't make sense to me. Even if I got a color that wasn't my first choice, what could I do about it anyway? It just seems like CMs would have an easier time of learning how to manage WOC if the color sections didn't keep changing.

Also, those benches look like they are in the back of the standing area. If those are for people who need to sit, how will they see? Maybe so they can sit while waiting and stand up when the show starts? :confused3 Will they make sure people who need them can sit, or will be just whoever sits there?

Perhaps you get a color section and you already know the view is not as good from there. So you toss it and try again the next night to get the "best" color.

If they can manage it I like the idea of moving the section colors each show. :)

They are in the wheelchair/accessible area. They are there for people who need to sit and for people who are with those in wheelchairs so those in wheelchairs do not have their view blocked by accompanying friends and family.

Okay, I am sorry, but I guess the answers about this are frusturating me a bit, and maybe I am just not getting it.

The way it sounds is I will get a FP after I pay for my meal and just be lumped in with everyone else that got a Free FP? I thought the dining package came with preferred viewing. That to me means that all those with dining packages are in the same spot, with preferred viewing.

I really apologize if I am just not getting it.

There are 4 sections - each is assigned a color.

When the FP machines give out tickets, they will be of certain colors. (It is not known at this point which colors or if they will remain the same every night. (At first it was rumored that the colors assigned to each section would change nightly; however, Albort has implied that he has heard this is no longer true. It really doesn't matter though.)

Meanwhile, those with dining packages and picnic boxes will get FPs with their meals that assign them to a colored area.

Those eating at WCT or AG will get FPs with the color of the "preferred area" and those with boxed meals will get FPs that are simply in the overall reserved area, not the preferred section (color).

Does that help?

I am totally with you. I am hoping someone gives more experienced information. I thought it was preferred seating but the way the OP said it sounds like you are grouped with everyone else...???

If you buy a meal at Ariel's or the WCT, then you get preferred seating. Picnic lunches are general seating, like the FPs.

Just to clarify, no one gets "preferred seating". You get "preferred standing".

I too thought there would be a special area for diners. But since they are only apparently giving out 2000 FPs per show that leaves 2000+ diners to get to the 4000+ viewers. So preferred may not mean much in the end.
