World of Color Superthread

I like to point out that on Thurday the 10th of June when they have the press night. That sunset is 8pm. It needs to be dark for Fireworks and WoC. They may want to clear the area out for safety reasons before starting the WoC show.

Closing DL early will get people moving in the right direction.

Sounds like what we saw about a month ago, but more refined...now do the room #'s get larger as you get closer to the WoC viewing area?

We've been in 04 on the 2nd and 6th floors. I have one more stay with the possibility of a view before the show opens, then I won't be back until September for Destination-D, that is if we get tickets!

I think so..we were pretty far toward the end of the hallway. I'll post room views soon when I get the camera all out and pictures all loaded. The villas are so much closer to the lobby than the old section hotel rooms! What a breeze.

I'm wondering when the WoC hours will be posted on DL.com I wonder how we could get a pool going on this. Any idea since we can't easily exchange goods through Disboards?

FWIW, here's what Al Lutz posted today (May 20) at the top of MiceAge:

Editor's Note 5/20: Tension is rising by the day in Team Disney Anaheim's executive suites
over the June 10/11 premiere dates for World of Color. Any plans for specific AP previews
have gone out the window, soft openings for the general public are looking less likely, and
now even the Cast Member Previews planned for early June are hanging by a thread. Unless
you're a contest winner or a media type, June 11 at 9PM may be the first time you'll have a
chance to see this new water show. (And don't believe a thing that Disneyland.com says
about those 10PM closing times for DCA; TDA's just playing brain games with you.) - Al Lutz

Wow- as long as they've been doing late night testing, I can't believe they aren't better organized at this point, if Al Lutz is right. We'll see how bad it really is when we're there that first week. RME- talk about unfortunate timing!

Man.... I'm feeling better and better about our decision to BAIL on our 6/11 and 6/12 dates at the parks. I'd rather read how it went from a distance after our 6/7 and 6/8 trip! :scared1:

 x 2

Here is my question: are the GGR FP machines connected to the other FP machines and if Disney does go with the FP idea, will holding a WoC FP make us unable to grab another for 2 hours? :hyper:
We just do not know. Best guess from yours truly - there are apparently four "color" sections in the WOC viewing area. So four of the GRR FP machines will be taken over for WOC (one for each color) while the remaining 3-4 machines will give out GRR FPs. And the FPs will not be linked to other rides. :)

Looks like there is a private party (radio deal) that is being held on June 8th.

Just found this video from youtube. Looks like Disney plans to have little water shows throughout the day. Check it out. :cool1:

I think I asked this question awhile ago on this thread. I thought it only made sense that they would do something during the day, kind of like the Bellagio does. Probably and definitely not to the same degree but it will be entertaining to see something happen while people are relaxing in the new area or around the benches with umbrellas.

Keep in mind that they also were saying it would open in April. :rolleyes1

Mike,

Look at post #254. I put in a link that shows the developers talking about having daytime fountain shows. !!! :goodvibes

I am not super stoked to be going Guinea Pig week.

It's the same event in both the links. An old one at that. If you develop something the best results are well refined. Refined over and over again. So take that video with hints of what they planned as just a hint of what it will be.

Do you even know when this is to happen? I thought they were no longer doing a Guinea Pig week or at least have put the thought off for now.

I think Guinea Pig week is scheduled for June 11th through 18th. June 18th- August 29th is Guinea Pig season. :teacher:

I'm at 20 days and have declared myself a guinea pig if need be. I think that's referring to that we'll be there about when the show has either only shown occasionally to the public or (quite possibly) not shown at all to the public before that date! :scared1:

Though if that's the case, I don't think I will be there for the first showing on 6/11, probably not even if you are allowed to stand around the lagoon. MIGHT look into the last showing of the day, though!
