If this is already answered in the super thread, please let me know, I was just overwhelmed by the thread...

We are gonig to DL for a surprise visit and can only spend one day in each park. We figured that we didn't want to waste time waiting for the show if we could be touring the park. I watched a bit on You tube out of curiosity to see what we would be missing.

In the background the big ferris wheel and Screamin are dark. they must shut the rides down behind the show? What time do they shut the rides down?

And what else might be unavailable during the show times. I am a bit bummed out because I LOVED riding Screamin when it was dark and will be sad to miss that. Last time we were on the Ferris wheel during the day and I was hoping to do it at night, but it looks like we are out of luck.

Any hints or tips to maximize our time in the park if we aren't seeing the show?

And just checking is there a parade at night anymore? i didn't see it posted on the official calendar.

Currently no nightime parade in DCA.

In the peir area all of the rides close down for WoC except for TSM, GSS and LMAUA. The others stop letting people in line, giving the attractions enough time to be down prior to the show. If you are the last people in line, you will probably be riding when it's dark.

WoC is a great show and I would suggest seeing it.

How do you know when they stop letting people in line?

It will depend on how busy the parks are and when the WOC is showing that night. For example, if WOC starts at 9, but the line for Screamin' is about 45 minutes long, they will stop letting guests in line around 8:05 or so to make sure the ride can be shut down by the time WOC is ready to start.

We were just there this last week, came home today:sad1: We wanted to ride Mickey's fun wheel at about 8:15 - as we wanted to ride it in the dark as well but by then they had already closed the line. There was a CM standing at the entry with the garbage cans blocking the entrance. He told us that it was closed for WOC. The next night we showed up at about 7:55 - stood in about a 25min line and were able to ride. When we got off there weren't any more people boarding, only getting off the ride.
