World of Color question

Excited that World of Color will probably make its debut before we arrive in July.

However, we are big fans of the Electrical Parade having seen it first time at WDW way back in 1990 and concerned that this new nightime show will mean the end of the parade. Can anyone tell me that this is not so?

No, as far as I can tell, the parade will not go away.

I think both Hydroguy and the folks at Micechat have previous said that it was not going to leave, but may go back to mainstreet Disney from CA.

I was asking a room booking cast member about that yesterday (we were talking about watching World of Color from the Paradise Pier Hotel), and she said that management hadn't told them anything yet about the Electrical Parade.

I do like the rumors of it going to Main Street, USA, though.

Has there been night parades before at Disneyland? The last few years the Parade of Dreams and Celebrate Parade would show at Dusk at the latest. Would Electrical Parade be shown like WDW's Specto at 9pm at DL in the past?

I would be very excited to see the Mainstreet Electrical Parade down Dl's mainstreet. We saw it for the first time at WDW's mainstreet back in the early 90's. We have since seen it at DCA. Not the same though.

Well during the winter months, parades even at 6PM can be when it's completely dark.

I don't think anybody is sure when the electric parade would be shown if it is transferred over to DL. It would probably continue to run at its regular time, 8:45. But it's possible that on some nights it could run twice like Spectro.

I sure hope it's back at Main St...that when we used to get on the rides fast because everyone was watching the ELP!

IMO it being in DCA was a pain...only because I didn't do my homework of course. We didn't realize the HUGE amount of people we'd be trapped behind to get OUT after it was over!

That would be so cool - we are there on the date of the 55th birthday so fingers crossed they might do something special. Even though we are going in summer with no doubt extended opening hours, can't help but wonder how they will fit all the evening events in - 2 Fantasmics, ELP and fireworks too - mmmm. They might only do one Fantasmic show (was kind of banking on the second show for thinner crowds) - but hey for the ELP it will be a good trade off.
