World of Color Premier Video

Fabulous!
Thanks for posting the links.

Thanks for posting this Mike.

I like the idea behind it, but from what I have watched so far, it is a commercial for Pixar films.:guilty::guilty:

I really have enjoyed the show so far (through part 3).

I noticed the following:

Little Mermaid
Nemo
Fantasia 2000
Toy Story
Up
Fantasia 2000
Aladdin
Pocahontas

It's amazing what they can do with water and lasers and video. :thumbsup2

the HD version from the crowd is better....it looks lovely..

guess i'm going to have to go back to california!!

I agree....the quality is better.

Part 1/3
Part 2/3
Part 3/3

The HD version has more footage...it continues into Bug's Life, POTC, Fantasia, The Lion King, and a montage of others...

EI watched the Ustream and the HD version.

That being said, I wasn't impressed. It felt like it was a hodgepodge of clips edited together with no rhyme or reason, just to get more character franchises included. Even Fantasmic has a storyline...even if some call it weak.

I did like the music, lights and fountain display. I will probably see it when I am in DL next year, but if I need to find seating 3 hours prior to showtime, I won't be heartbroken to miss it.

We were at Calif Adventure on Tuesday. We left California yesterday and missed the show by a day... bummer. Anyway, this is what the water looks like in front of the Mickey Fun wheel. Not very pretty...

OK ... so how is this better than Fantasmic!?

I remember as a child seeing a show on the west coast fo Florida with lights and fountains coordinated to music. This isn't anything really new.

i have to wait to see it in person before i decide...

wishes never looks that great to me in video, yet it takes my breath away in person...
so who knows....

Hi there,

Long time reader first time poster. I'm the one who shot the HD one posted above, thanks for sharing it.

I just wanted to say that people should reserve judgement of the show until they see it in person. I posted the video online mostly for people who want to try to relive the experience rather than prematurely judge it, but to each their own I suppose :) It's very hard to appreciate the "epic factor" with a video.

As for my own opinion of the show, I certainly don't think it is perfect, but there are several scenes (Aladdin, Sprite/Pocahontas, April Showers/Pirates/Chernabog, and the Finale) that I thought were absolutely outstanding, and also impossible to capture with a camera! The scale of the show is massive, and my video maybe caught 60% of the width, and almost none of the water-level effects which looked amazing. My next goal is to see it from the front with a poncho (and a waterproofed camera popcorn::)

thanks for posting it on youtube!!! definitely entices me to go see it!!

bubbius, can you tell me if or how children are supposed to see the show? Seems to me if I was 8 years old and packed in there with adults I'd see nothing.

Unfortunately it's the same problem as all of the standing-room-only shows at DLR, e.g. fantasmic. Paradise park does have a slight advantage over other places because it has sections of planters which give several spots for "front row" views where you have some 5-10ft of clearance in front of you. Still, I suspect the # of people who could line these "rows" amounts to under 500, and it's unclear to me how people will be able to line up before the show anyway (to ensure you get such a spot).

The bottom line is that unless parents are able to line up early for their assigned viewing, they will have to resort to something I'm sure many of them resent doing, i.e. shoulder sitting. Oh, and maybe there is a better shot at getting into the "soak zone" (the very front of the viewing area)...

Of course, if you just want to see the spectacle of the fountains, they say you'll be able to watch all around the bay, but you'd miss most of the projections/effects/maybe the soundtrack... GL :)

I should add that any parent considering taking their young child to the front row of the show needs to be warned that the show is very loud and intense at times, could be quite scary. Some of the fountains are *very* close to the front of the viewing area. In particular the scenes involving fire are *really* hot! Be prepared to deal with a little blubbering :lmao:

Don't forget, the Pixar films of today will be your kids equivelant of The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Little Mermaid.

I'll be taking the girls next weekend, since I just can't see exposing them to this weekends massive crowds.

I'll also be doing a report on how well my current blog plan did for them. I can say that I will be doing the picnic meal seating and I'll let you know how they respond. They are 5 and 3.5.

I agree that I think this has to be one experienced in person and not as much on video. Like how Illuminations loses something in that translation. I did nap off during the live stream, so I will be more skeptical, too.

Oh my God! I am blown away by that. I can't wait to see it in August. I can only imagine what it will be like to see it live! Thank you for posting this.
