We are going for what is my family's first time to DLR in 2 weeks. I've never seen WOC and it's on my bucket list. We do not have any interest in doing the Dessert Party. We splurged on staying CL at the DLH and a few other things that were more important to us. I don't need any kind of special seating or the absolute best view. I just want to be able to see it without having to carve out hours of time or paying extra.

How hard is it to get a spot with the virtual queue? If we get in - how early do we need to show up? And, is there any standing room or spots to watch from (even if it's an obstructed view) if we don't get the virtual queue?

One last question - it says that on 6/19-6/21 there's a WOC viewing at 10:15 but it also says that DCA closes at 10. Is there really another show after the park has officially closed?

Thanks!

Yes there is sometimes a WoC show after the park closes. You just stay in the park for the show then head out after.

I haven’t done WoC standby lately so I can’t comment on the best strategy to get a good spot without waiting too long. Hopefully someone else has recent info.

My family is planning on trying to watch WOC from the 6th floor viewing deck at the GCH. We will be there next week, so I can report back on how crowded it is and how well you can see and hear the show. We are also staying club level and plan on taking a few desserts from the Veranda to munch on while we watch.

Did the virtual queue last night. Was on right at 12 and got the tickets. Got into the area about an hour before the show and had our pick of spots, went with the yellow area far right on the 3rd level at the rail and had a great view. I was surprised that it wasn't really crowded but maybe we lucked out as it was grad night or maybe our spot wasn't as desirable? There was one family behind us with lots of room between.

I've been to the WOC area a few times since it was brought back and it looks to me like it's never very full. But then again, I pulled the 1st show four times this week and watched it zero times.

I wish they would actually separate out the shows in the virtual queue because I can never tell how long to wait to try to get the second show. They literally had a functional system that showed this information in the pre-COVID era and then got rid of it so now, I'm constantly pulling the wrong show and wasting the spot. I'd even take the Tokyo lottery system over this.

Is this veiwing deck open to all who stay there or just club level?

There was no evidence to me of anyone checking to see whether you were in the virtual queue this week. We arrived around 8:30 for a 9:00 show and were a few people deep. Could still see well. Lots of standing though.

As far as seeing World Of Color without dining packages...is there anywhere to sit and watch it? A bench, a restaurant?

What is the latest you can show up before it starts to get a decent view? (Standing)

If you don't get a spot in the virtual queue does that mean you can't see it, or are there standby areas?

We are staying at VGC in August and were planning on using the GCH viewing deck so very interestd in your experience if you did end up watching WOC from there.

We did! If this will be your first or only opportunity to watch World of Color, I can’t say I recommend it. You are quite far away and although you can hear the action quite well and see lots of activity on the water, the distance and angle are just too far off to make it worthwhile. The projections on the screens are impossible to make out. But, that said, having seen it before, I enjoyed the experience, it was just rather like watching fireworks that are being displayed several miles away. You can see and hear them and they are still beautiful, but you certainly don’t get the full show. BB1BC01D-434C-4D84-A8F8-FCC445CB9FF3.jpeg
