World of Color Dining Packages Announced

Weren't they also saying that they were thinking of putting all the WoC dining indoors? If so, I don't think you'd see the parade from there anyway? I didn't think to ask to confirm...if I remember I'll ask tomorrow or Tuesday when I call.

During my original conversation with Disney Dining on Friday (when I made our 4:10 ressies) I was told that they were only booking WOC WCT packages for outside seating. But my conversation today I was told it could be either inside or outside (again not being able to guarantee seating in view of the parade route).

Seems to me they will just continue to change their minds & adapt to the feedback from the consumers (through their DD phone CM's).

I'm still wondering why there is NOTHING on the DL website about these packages? I like having official verbiage in writing from the company offering the service.

I'll be on these boards religiously the opening weekend & will be looking for *hopefully* some reviews about the dining package vs going for the show-pass at park opening to determine if we will keep our WCT reservations. NOT having to hurry over to DCA at 9:30 on a Tuesday morning to fight the mobs to get a Show-pass (which, again nothing official about this either on the DL website) will be an added bonus, and we may end up skipping DCA on Tuesday morning (in case people are swarming DCA b/c of WOC...there is no WOC on Wed/Thu of our week due to grad night, so I'm thinking those may be better days to visit DCA at opening).

This is sure making me glad that I haven't done any hard itinerary planning ... I'm wondering at this point if Ridemax will even be worth it for our first 2 days since they won't have the data taking WOC into consideration. But I digress!

Received a phone call this morning to move my WCT WOC reservation from 7:00 to 7:10 for July 21st. She said we are now guaranteed tickets. The way she explained is that they have set aside a certain number of tables for WOC dining and the rest for reg dining. This way the tickets would be guaranteed. She said she did not know whether it was inside or out. Is WCT a new restaurant? I have never heard of it. Is it good?

Anybody have any idea if they will be open tomorrow to make reservations? I wont get a chance until later tonight to call so I'm banking on calling tomorrow to see if we can get a reservation for either June 15th, 18th or 19th. Keeping the fingers crossed.

Given that they are open today (Sunday) my best guess is that yes, they'll be open tomorrow even though its Memorial Day. But I don't know for sure as I don't have any experience.

If they had anything on the official Disney site, I think they'd all be completely sold out by now...I suppose it makes me selfish, but I don't mind it being more exclusive for people in the know. :rolleyes1

I'm not sure I'll be up to doing full trip reports during breaks, but I will Tweet as much as possible, including if there are any problems with the dining experience (seeing as they didn't mark me down as WoC when I called on Thursday :headache: ), and provided it works OK, then how I like the food and how the seating is. I figure that the food is worth at least $15 so it comes down to paying about $25 for tickets.

Ridemax had told me they would add to the wait times of a few rides for WoC, but that was a few weeks ago.... I don't think I'm going to use it this time. They DO have the moneyback guarantee, don't they? So if you think it may be a good idea, you could try it and then get your money back? For myself, though, I don't think I'll try it.

Right there with ya! :thumbsup2

When I made our reservation for AG yesterday, the CM said we had a choice of indoor or outdoor seating.

This is true & while I had the same feelings as you a few days ago, now that the true planners who are 60 days out or less (who probably check their chosen Disney msg board at least once every couple of days) have probably all seen that there is preferred seating, I want some official stuff!

I just got this call as well. I was told they are now calling it premium standing. The CM told me the standing area is in the middle and it will hold about 500 people. He recommended getting there early so the kids would have a good view.

:lmao:snert:lmao:

Is WCT a new restaurant? I have never heard of it. Is it good?

WCT--Wine Country Trattoria is not new, we ate there last summer. We loved it, in fact, we ended up eating there two days in a row we liked it so much.

I called yesterday and made reservations at WCT for July 29th. After reading the boards today, I called back to make 100% sure we had the WOC package. I asked about indoor vs outdoor seating and was told that the WOC seating is only inside and that tickets are not 100% guaranteed because of walkups. Our seating is at 4:10. Would love to make it later but the CM I spoke to said that she feels earlier is better. I just don't think anyone knows what is going to happen at this point.

Anyone know if there's a kids' menu yet for WCT? I forgot to ask.

I haven't heard specifics about the menu for the kids, but the price I was quoted on Friday & then again today was $19 for children 3-10.

So weird! My original phone call (friday) they said outdoor seating & I asked about indoors (in case it is hot) and I was told WOC is outdoor only at WCT. Today when I called to push our time back to 6:30 I was told 1) seating will be both indoor & outdoor for WOC/WCT with no price difference & 2) I was told that seats are guaranteed (otherwise I wouldn't have pushed my time back by 2 1/2 hours!)....now I'm worried I did the wrong thing.:headache:

OK - I know this is going to sound very odd, but we just want WCT reservations without the WOC package. Our boys are not into shows, they have seen the WOC info, and are not interested. But my husband and I really would like to eat at WCT (and of course, that includes the boys.) Can we still make a regular reservation? I'm assuming I need to call exactly 60 days advance when the phone lines open?

Yes, they are accepting regular reservations for their regular menu as well.

What was explained to me was that the entire reservation needs to EITHER
1) order off the WOC Pre-fix menu & get your WOC preferred tickets
2or
2) order off the regular menu, no WOC preferred tickets

I was told that if you have WOC reservations at WCT when you get to the restuarant you CAN switch over to the regular menu BUT you will NOT get your WOC tickets.

If you have a regular reservation the only way you can switch to the WOC package is if there is an opening or cancellation.
