Hi,

I am thinking about the World of Color dessert party. I am done it many times before the Covid pandemic.

Is it the same as before?

Do they still have the 2 levels of seating? Top tier higher tables and lower tier regular tables?

How early is check in? Where is check-in?

Has the dessert plate changed at all?

I know the food and drink do not justify the price but it is the experience and atmosphere while watching the World of Color that you are paying for!

Any comments and information will be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

For us, it was just as good as ever. Yes to the two tiers. We went to the second show and check-in was by the water wheel near Grizzly River Run. A perfect view and great desserts, 2 alcoholic beverages included. I just wish there was something as good for watching Fantasmic.

Thank you!Great!! What time did you check in?
When do they allow you to check in? So the experience justifies the price?!

Like stated above, you check in near the water wheel at the backside of GRR (see pic). The red was the line up for the first show, the blue for the 2nd show
We headed over to line up at about 6:30pm. There were already people lined up, we were about the 3rd party in line. At 7pm they start checking each party in and this is where they ask if you want a high table or a low table and where you want to be seated. They have a big iPad and will turn it around and show you and give you tips, at least the cast member that helped us did.

Then you just wait until maybe 8 when they walk you over to your table and get you set up. We wanted to grab some dinner in between checking in at 7 and walking over to our table at 8, luckily the people behind us said they didn’t mind holding our spot. It’s not like you’d lose your spot since you have always been assigned to but the closer you are to being one of the first walked over, the longer you have at your table vs standing by the water wheel…

We found it very worth it and I’m not sure I can do it another way now! I liked the desserts but couldn’t finish them all. I loved the cheese. I didn’t get the alcohol drink because it was tequila based. I love tequila but wasn’t feeling it. The Cherry breeze was really good and we also were offered coffee and hot cocoa later…

All and all I give it an A+
Will do again

Thank you so much!! Sounds wonderful!

World of Color starts at 9PM for my party. What time would check in start? It is the first show of the night.

So I should be ok id I get in line at 7?
You’d probably be ok getting in line at 7, but we lined up at 6:30 and were shocked people were already there. We really really wanted a high table so I didn’t want to chance on not being first or close to first.

I want a lower table so I think I will be ok at 7. Thank you!!

Thank you - very helpful thread. We have a WOC reservation for 8pm, and will try to follow your advice. But if the worst happens (four adults all doing their own thing), and we run late, how late is too late is too late to check in? And how much worse does the seating get if you are late in terms of viewing? I am presuming all of the seats have at least a decent view - or is that not the case?

Yes all of the table have good views.

Just depends if you want a top tier table vs a lower tier table.

I get early to be sure I get a lower tier table. Others like higher tier. I just usually get to things early like this just my nature abd I get compulsive about knowing all the little details! 😂

Thanks for this information. How far in advance do the tickets go on sale? We will be there in mid Dec and have been thinking about doing the dessert party.

You reserve and pay 60 days in advance. Technically reservations open at 6am Pacific, but lately they've been popping up closer to 3am.

Yes this does seem to be the case... fwiw we missed all the bookings due to the earlier deadline, but were able to grab a reservation via one of the third party dining watch apps :)

Thanks for the pics! No more breadsticks?

No bread sticks or bread, just the crackers. I had the heads up about this thanks to this forum, so I had a plan to buy a sourdough Mickey beforehand to bring which I think is an amazing idea! But I was full from my pizza beforehand so didn’t make it happen.

The crackers proved to be enough for the cheese.
