Maria - The problem is that I don't really LIKE fruit! I love strawberries, grapes, and pineapple, but that's about it. I'm working on developing a like (not a love, mind you, just a like) for apples, oranges, and mangoes. Cantaloupe I will tolerate in small doses. It's going to be a LONG six weeks! But it's good for me, since I will probably either really like, or really hate, some additional fruit before we're done! And OMG, 375 YEARS? I'm sorry, I love tradition. I loved that my high school had been around since 1923. Now that feels like a brand new school!
Beth - Yep, I definitely needed the slave driver to get me motivated. Otherwise I would never have eaten half the stuff I've tried this week. I actually wrote "cottage cheese" on my grocery list. If you knew what a long shot that is, you'd be rolling on the floor. I've never even gone near a container of cottage cheese - I THINK I know where to find it in the store!
I'm much better with veggies - am going to buy makings for a huge salad tonight to take some pressure off the fruit. I'm beginning to develop sores in my mouth from too much citrus... But a big THANK YOU to you for coordinating all of this and getting us moving, literally. I desperately needed to make these changes, and you've gotten me started.
Tandy - DD likes to help with trip planning, but only if it's Disney. And like you, that's my favorite one to plan. I'm not so fond of doing it for places I'm not familiar with. The whole DC Metro thing is a mystery to me, so trying to find a hotel on the Orange line, as I was instructed to do, is about to get the best of me. And our first two choices are already booked, plus rates are way higher than I'm comfortable committing to when we have limited income. Not a fun task!
Time for the afternoon yogurt. Hope it fills the empty spot in my stomach, since I'm planning to go run 4 straight from work. Just ran home and walked the dogs so they won't feel abandoned!

but a little protein to refuel after the morning run. Good luck with the fruit choices! It's good that veggies are your friends!
I think 18 is going to be tough whether you break it up or do it all at once!
So excited. That'll burn some calories for sure!
I can ask my friend about hotels in DC. He lives there but I'm not sure how familiar he is with MCM. But if you have transportation or whatever questions, I'd be happy to ask him. I love mangoes! I buy them by the case and whatever we can't get to, we cut up and freeze and then they go into smoothies. They're also good with cottage cheese!
Sleep is always good and like you said the weight loss is the silver lining. Anymore thoughts about the 1/2 at DL? I'm still waiting for an airfare sale...

I really hope you are feeling better!

How about tomatoes, blueberries, watermelon? That last two might not be a problem for your mouth.
What's your goal for the upcoming race, maybe that'll help you decide?

, so I got behind her and paced off of her for the next mile. It kept my mind off how tired I was, and eventually I passed her and made it to the end. Then I went for my massage and let Heather work out all the kinks that I'd put in my legs! She told me that I absolutely HAD to take a rest day - I can walk the dog, but that's all. I told her I had to get my 2 exercise points, but she said no weights, no bike, and most definitely no running! Then I went home and cut up veggies for my salad and made my tuna melt for dinner, while feeding the dogs veggies on the side. Happy dogs!
That leaves just one daughter to go. Never a dull moment....
And in the all-important Challenge report, my new weight is 190.6. I am so happy! I thought I would never see that number, it's taken me 3 weeks to get here. That's a loss of 3.2, but I do have to be honest and say I had TOM last week, so it's not really all this week's loss. But I'm taking it!
You are going to have a great race, I'll be thinking of you!

I remember when I did WW. I reached the point where my weight put me at 20 points a day and I just couldn't do it. I did 22 very well, but could never handle 20. 18 is very little. I'm glad you listened to yourself.
