Good afternoon ladies.
Did my 3 miler today and it was great. It was kind of funny though. I hate, hate, hate the cold. I've been complaining all winter about having to run outside. Well, this morning when I took off for my run, it was about 65 degrees. I burned up! It was HOT! So, now I'm wondering how in the world I'm going to be able to run when it's 80 or 90? Which do you ladies prefer? Hot or cold?
Jackie: Congrats on the new number. It must be a wonderful feeling. I'll never get way down again. I just keep gaining and losing the same 10 pounds.
Beth: I applaud what you are doing for your family. They will benefit for a lifetime (even if they don't see it now). We ate nothing but fast food or things like mac and cheese when I was a kid. My mom was a single mom who worked 2 full time jobs. I was either in charge of dinner (and didn't know how to cook) or she would leave us money. We do go through spells where we eat out more than we should, but we're trying not to anymore. My son was considered obese last year at the beginning of summer(he wasn't huge, but that's what the chart said), so I changed everything. He's lost 15 pounds! Of course, once he goes to bed, mom goes crazy!
Corinna: I would LOVE to have 17.9% body fat. I had the largest body fat percentage in my personal trainer certification class at 24%. I'm probably about 22 now, but need to go get that checked. I have a son in 4th grade also. He has discovered girls!
So, it sounds like the key to this half marathon thing is just to stay with it every week, huh? I think I'll catch the bug after my half and stick with it. I'm already signed up for a 5K with my son the following week. Of course, I'll be doing it at his pace. I have been telling myself to just slow down and chill out this week. I was so set on a number for the half, that I wasn't enjoying the run.
Have a great day everyone!

Let us know how it goes! Don't worry about the gains - as long as you're out there moving, it will come back off!
What's time will you be shooting for on the next half?
No rice, refined sugars, fried foods, white bread, pasta but will still eat whole wheat breads and pasta and potatoes (I don't eat very much of those for some reason).

At least your weight is still down!

Grantwriting is not for the faint of heart -- but when you do it consistently, you learn some tricks to make it go more smoothly. It's like any other job, it's easier if you're a professional
I'm sure it's a whole different kettle of fish to write features
for a new scale number, it is awesome!

Really, I didn't see Walt's ghost anywhere
That burger sounds awesome! How did your LR go? I think 13 aka a Half Marathon, sounds like a pretty decent long run to me!
I know it's hard to get going again, especially when it feels like you have to completely start at 0 again. But, it'll come back quick!
I hope he's able to find work soon.
for your cold! WTG on getting in the 6 miler while you sick. How was your Easter dinner?
I'm glad you have the NCAA to distract you!
