Working from home for Disney

I've been working from home for awhile now as a travel agent. Love it. Plus I have very good justification to spend the first bit of money I make at Disney every year ;) Good luck on the transcription side of things :)
I'd love to do travel but how did you find a reputable place to get a course/ certificate?

Jayme: do you need a license? I love this biz, but how do you get clients? Are there agencies that would hire me or do you go it alone? Thanks all. All my earnings would also go to wdw. ;)

I've been googling for work where we live (transcription) but I only see companies who want me to pay to 'join'. Is that how you started also? Thanks.

Avoid those companies. One or two legitimate companies charge a fee for a criminal background check, but those are not companies for beginners.

Check out the transcription folders of the forums on wahm.com and workplacelikehome.com for more information.

Just to let you guys know, these places have loads of information on every legit work from home opportunity you can find. From writing, to ebay selling, to transcription to independent sellers such as Tupperware, Mary Kay etc. There are hundreds of things to choose from.

I would like to say that the original post inspired me to look for new companies/clients to pay for my upcoming Universal and next year's Disney trip. Well on my way to funding both!!

I am a stay at home mom, but I have been making $300-500 a month doing mystery shopping, so I guess I have to leave the house :) But I wanted to look into transcription as well!

I took a TA course years ago(22) in order to get a job in the industry and found it near impossible. No one leaves fun/good jobs. How does one break in to the industry now? Where does one get clients and how do you advertise if you are not with an agency? Sounds awesome, but how do people do it?

The transcription biz sounds intriguing. Would always love some extra jungle in my pocket!:)

The travel biz really is hard to break into if you don't join an agency that is already bringing in clients for you. Forums don't work because most don't allow advertising. So unless you know a group of people that travel a lot that don't already have a go-to agent, your starting from scratch and it can take a long time to grow a client base. I've tried :)

But I've been working from home for the past year and a half now with a US based company and it's going well and is something I enjoy. The company is one that I would support even if I wasn't working with them. I'm happy to share what I do via PM if anyone is looking for ideas/info.

how do you find a reputable mystery shopping company? I have been interested in this but I do not want to get ripped off.

Checking in. Hello everyone. I have replied to some private messages but let me say here publicly that it can be intimidating to start working from home. Do your research find forums that are dedicated to working from home and get referrals and advice. I would prefer not to disclose my main source of work from home income because that's basically giving away my potential jobs. There are only so many assignments and who ever grabs the job first gets the pay. Find what works for you, set a goal, and work toward it.

I looked into mystery shopping and found some great companies that my friends referred me to. Unfortunately i live too far from most of the shop sites for it to be worth my time and gas.

I am up to about $650 for my fund and am averaging $200 a month working 3 to 4 hours a day 3 to 4 days a week. I am not getting rich. I am not making a "living" and I expect it to take me over a year to earn enough for my Disney trip. But it's money that isn't earmarked for bills. Some people say that it is slave wages. Maybe so. But i am sitting at home with my kids working as i have time and making some extra money. Every little bit helps.

Pixie dust to all you hard working stay at home mom-mas

I do amazon mturk a lot and free to join. I only do surveys. I can bring home anywhere to 50 to 200 dollars a month depending on how much time I put in.

I love perktv that passive income I bring home 10 dollars a week doing nothing but watching videos. If have android or iphone download for free. You have up to five devices on one account.

I do gift hulk to but only doing videos bring home 5 dollars a week.

swagbucks, quickrewards, irazzo all do videos on I bring in anywhere from 5 to 10 dollars a week.

I do this in my spare time. I am not looking at this as job. But as fun money to do extras like go on vacations and festivals too.

The kids during this summer:
June Going to Riverbend Festival for whole 9 days and eat out

July Going to US and IOA for the weekend

Labor Day weekend Busch Gardens and Sea World not sure about that trip yet. The twins start middle school this year.
