I really want to make some extra money on the side without having to give up my time at home by picking up a second regular job or working overtime at the office. Are there any legitimate work from home jobs or are all those ads just crap?

If anyone actually does work from home could you give me some info about what you do, how you got started and what kind of money you can make.

Thanks :)

The best way to work from home, IMHO, is by just doing whatever you already do really well. You can either work for a company that allows telecommuting or do it freelance as your own small business. There are probably some legitimate work from home setups out there, but you won't make nearly as much $$$ working for someone doing something that requires little training.

DH moonlights as a computer programmer (which is also what he does full-time during the day). I'm a SAHM and teach natural childbirth classes from my home.

I'm a document review attorney and short of opening my own practice (which I don't have the expertise to do) I'm stuck doing my review on the computers at work or trying to find a permanent attorney position but that wouldn't mean more time at home and not necessarily more money either.

Anyone else have some success stories?
