Don't you love when karma kicks in??? I do. ;)

As far as you taking heat...after all the carrying on about vacation and days off, if she has the nerve to say a peep to you, look her square in the eye and say "Your stupidity has nothing whatsoever to do with me".

Wow! My office is so boring compared to this! Keep us posted.

MTE! :thumbsup2 it's not your job to cover up a co-worker's affair, nor should she be upset at anyone there that she was found out. she lied, her fault, end of story. the update made me smile, i have to admit-karma is a real witch, isn't it? :lmao:

I also wonder if there might be some way that lying about why she needed to have tomorrow off might come back and bite her in the butt with the boss. Will he find out about this?

I wondered about this too. On the one hand, it's really no one's business what you do on your days off, but then you look at the stink her co-worker made about having these days off. Since, if I remember correctly, she told her boss it was the childs 21st bday - is that right? In any event, it never looks good to a boss that he/she was lied to.

I'm not saying a word about it around him!!!!! My mouth has been know to over load my **** in some cases, but I'm not going to touch this one with a ten foot pole.

I can't speak for the other girl who's office is downstairs. There have been some pretty snarky comments coming my way the first 3 days of this week. It's been rubbing both she and I the wrong way, but I was taking the high road, so I had pretty much just ignored them. After the calls today though, the other girl is HOT!!!!

Well, do yourself a favor and let her do the dirty work with regard to your boss. ;) She'll spill it, you won't haveto, you'll look like the fabulous profesisonal and the skanky co-worker will still get her come-uppance.

It's all good for you!:thumbsup2

I wnt to know how you have stopped laughing long enough to get any work done! I would be :lmao:. Can't wait to hear an update on Monday!!!

What? :confused3 Could you elaborate a little on this one?

I would also like to know why requesting vacation early in the year for the whole year is "asinine and childish" behavior. I schedule my vacation as soon as I know what my son's school schedule will be. I have more vacation days than my husband does, and, so, it makes sense that I would take off days when he is out of school Otherwise, my husband would use up all his vacation days staying home when my son is out of school, and we could never have a "family" vacation.

I think there are alot of mean-spirited people when it comes to scheduling vacation. I would have no problem at all with a coworker doing as the OP did, particularly with the restrictions that they put on when she can take time off. I am in much the same situation. I am a doctor, and we need doctors to cover the practice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (except 366 in leap years). Only so many doctors are allowed off at a time. My son is in school--I can't take him out of school for a family trip. At this moment, 4 of the 7 doctors have children who are in grade or high school. The other 3 have older children. The other doctors with children have wives who don't work outside the home, so, I am in a unique situation.
But, nonetheless, there are other doctors who just have to take the same week off as I do. For the past few years, I have planned my vacation for immediately after school gets out, the first week of June. There is one doctor in particular who always has to have that week off, too. It is to the point that I am not going to take vacation that week next summer. If I need to, I will bring my son with me to work that week (which is my only alternative if school is out, summer camp hasn't begun, and I can't have vacation). Of course, my son will be 12 next summer, which makes things alot easier.

The two of us have had a couple of good laughs at her expense.

We have no clue what "cover story" she gave her hubby. We can't wait to find out what she came up with. From what the other girl told me, she wasn't that far out of town when we got a hold of her, so it wouldn't really suprise us that she told him that she had just gotten approval to be off those days late Wed and since they had already left, she just thought she'd drive up and suprise them, totally covering her butt with the family.

Wow just wow.

Got to admit--that couldn't even be a sitcom storyline.

Whoa Nellie! What a soap opera!

I can't wait to hear what happens on Monday... popcorn::

Seeing as I was the one to answer the phone and tell him she wasn't here, in some way, shape or form....I'm gonna be taking some heat for it.

The two of us sitting downstairs, are just dumb founded as to WHY she wouldn't have answered her cell when he was calling??? I know if I was outta state, calling DH on his cell and he wasn't picking up, I would call into his work place and try to reach him there.

I really feel for the 3 kids. Even at 21, 20, and 18, it has to be heartbreaking to have your mom lie in such away. You just know their weekend is shot to hell and back.

:rolleyes1:

OMG!!! The PP who mentioned Karma, totally nailed it!!

You HAVE to keep us updated!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!

You shouldn't be taking the heat for it. You answered the phone and relayed the information you were given. She said she was going out of town. Obvously there must have been other stuff for the husband to immediatly state "do you know any good divorce laywers?". Most would ask for clarification or think they may have misunderstood. Sounds like the co worker already had issues with her DH.

Karma is a boomerrang.

Wow, looks like someone is in some serious trouble!! :rotfl2: I feel horrible for her hubby and kids though.

OP, you did nothing wrong. It's not your responsiblity to cover for her infidelaties. She would have to be beyond stupid to say something to you about it. Oh wait...........she is beyond stupid. :lmao:

Well, I haven't been spoken to yet this morning by the other girl, so all I know is coming from my other basement co-worker.

I called it mostly right. She told him that she didn't find out she was going to be off, until they had already left. She was actually about 45 minutes out of town when we in the office got a hold of her. She had to go about another 15 minutes to get to an exit so she could turn around. She explained away the time issue to her husband, as she had forgotten her sinus meds and had to go back and get them.

She did not enjoy her weekend. Said he didn't speak to her when she got there. They argued most of Fri and Saturday. She got so angry with her DH, that she took some Advil PM medicine went to bed at 8 Sat night and no one could get her up later that night, so she didn't get to go to the bar with her son and the rest of the group that went out for his 21st celebration. Guess they had to push them out the door so that they could close the tavern for the night, they were having so much fun. Or at least that is what she was told by the rest of the party Sunday when they finally got up.

She hasn't spoken to the other co-work much either. What she did get outta her, was done before I got here. She had pretty much stayed in her office with the door shut. It will be interesting to see how this does play out.

she made the bed, now she has to lie in it. if her DH is smart, he's visiting an attorney this morning.
