If you wanted to inform your employees with the details of your company picnic, how would you go about doing it?

1. Newsletter
2. Memo
3. Bulletin Board notice
4. Email
5. Other?

Hubby's work creates a flyer and then e-mails it. Whatever they do the e-mail is friendly to, so it has graphics and everything. E-mail reaches the most people. Paper communication always has a chance of falling to the side and possibly not being read.

If everyone recieves emails, then I would go about doing that and also posting it on the bulletin board. Ask others to spread the word about it.

Depending on the size of your company
I work has over 1000 employes and use an intranet notices.

My work attaches a memo, a month and a week before, to the paycheck or stub if people have direct deposit. Free and not everyone at my place has email or the same bulletin board access. They do post on the bulletin boards too. :teeth:

I was part of the planning committee for this years staff outing and we did everything through email.

at my place everyone gets a memo. Usually with their checks.

Email everyone, then print a flyer and post it on the doors to the restrooms :) EVERYONE will see it.

DH company emails the staff. DH then forwards the the email to me and I print a copy and post it. I like this because I dont have to worry about details DH forgets to tell me.

Email, makes it more likely everyone will see it.

Over-communicate - email it AND send a flyer to everyone too (catches those people who open their email and never print it!)

Our employee notices are sent home through the mail. It is just a postcard, that if you are planning on attending, you need to return to HR.

I work at a large hospital ( ~3500 employees), and with the varied shifts, vacations, many people do not have e-mail access (i.e. the housecleaners, cafeteria staff, patient transporters etc.) so they want to make sure they get the info to all employees.

It is not possible to include the information with our paystubs/direct deposit notices, because they get printed out on a certain type of form that becomes a self-sealed envelope thingy.

My DH works at a very small company, about 11 employees, so they just send an e-mail with the date, and as the picnic gets closer, they send the details/map etc.

Since it's something that's never happened before, and will prob. never happen again, I'd put the invites on the inside of Faberge Eggs.
