Work issues-- advice needed

I am almost at a point to take a lower paying teachers aide position just so I am back in a school environment.
This gets my vote. Then hopefully something will come along there. This is exactly what a teacher friend of mine did recently, and she just got a teaching position for the rest of the year because someone else is going to be out sick.

Hang in there. :flower3:

I vote for talking with your trainer in a non-confrontational way. I say this because I had a situation where I had to train someone at the same time I was required to do the work I was training the person for. Needless to say I was very stressed and I unfortunately took it out on the trainee. Not on purpose, but just thoughtlessly. The trainee finally asked me why I didn't like them and what they were doing wrong. I was horrified that I can across like that, because I really am a nice person (most of the time :)). After they spoke up I explained what was going on and then apologized for my behavior toward them. We are actually good friends now.

You've been there 8 months - how long are you required to work with the "trainer"? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel as far as that is concerned?

You said your family will be okay without this income - maybe, for your mental health, that option would be best.

Not much better today-- unfortunately.

I have been applying like crazy to other agencies, schools, and all other types of positions.

As for the time length, we have our on the job trainers or "mentors" until July. For me July seems an eternity away. It's only Mid March. -- hey at least I get the 4th of July off!

akcire: You are very right. I do those types of determinations most of the days, but am trained for other determinations as well. Since I'm not concentrating on one "line of business" it is difficult to remember everything. It is frustrating to see people scam the system.

The mentor did actually sit with me one on one and did a case with me that I royally messed up. The case was full of red ink.. but it did help. As much as it killed me, I thanked her for her time and patience because I didn't understand this type of application.

I actually did research another one of my mistakes and found it was to be in my favor. I knew I was right, but I pointed out the procedure manual and stated "Am I interpreting this correctly?" So the onus was one her to say "yes or no". Of course I knew I was correct, but she didn't admit it. Small victory though
