This past weekend I received a letter from the college inviting me to participate in the Honors program! :teeth: I heard from friends that anyone they know who has done it was pleased with it. I would love to do it but also have to consider DS. Already he's ready for me to quit school and go back to work.

Is it a lot of extra work involved? I'm looking for a rough idea. From what I've read there's probably an additional research project to be done for each class along with a presentation.

Congrats on being asked. It is an honor. I don't have any suggestions or answers. But, wanted to tell you congrats!!!

I dropped out of my honors program because of the grad-school-sized thesis and the fact that it was aimed towards humanities majors and would not likely help me to get into vet school. I'm glad I was in it for a year, though. I got to take a challenging and interesting colliquium class (as well as other "advanced" electives) instead of taking ENG 101 and HIS 101 with morons -- this was the main reason why I accepted the program in the first place and never clepped out with AP exams; I had to go back and take those 101 classes after I dropped honors, and believe me, they are ANNOYING (though a breeze).

The requirements are going to be completely different for each university, so I don't think this is a good place to really find out if it's for you, unless someone here went to the same school.

Congrats to you on the invite to the Honors program! That is wonderful...I know there must be much to consider so good luck! What ever you decide...

OT Doc....I tried to PM you in private but your box is full...I don't agree with you that "all of the morons" are in English and History 101 some of us may have not gotten the best start in life and are thankful for those annoying classes...
I'm not trying to start anything just wanted to let you know.

Take care

HC
