I popped into our woolies and the queues were awful

I've just heard from someone who's been into their local Woolworths this morning, and spoke to the manager there. The sale from today is the same as it has been since last week - ie up to 50% off, and they do not intend increasing the sale this week.

Yeah just went into my local woolies and its the same sale. Was trying to see if I could get any bargain games, but the prices still weren't bargain, and most of them were out of stock... Out of stock stickers..... EVERYWHERE!

Popped into my local woolies and left without buying anything. Honestly most things in there that i would have got were still more expensive than other stores.

It is a shame its going though, been around for such a long time.

The company i work for deals with Credit Insurance - its been craxy the last few months with the amount of bankruptcies. Unfortunately i think Woolies are just the first big name we will see closing down - there are several others who are in very similar situations.

i went into our woolies yesterday and managed to buy 2 v-tech console games for just over half price ..

Nipped into my local Woolies today and couldn't find any bargains I fancied. As already said, a lot of the stock is still more expensive than on-line or other retailers even with the price reductions.

The 50% closing down posters are a little misleading too. If you look closely you can just see the "up to" in front of the 50%. There was not that much stuff with 50% off.

Not had a woolies in our town for years, after the one we had got so big they closed it due to poor sales in the late 80's.
