My Dad has booked up to go to Disney again in October, after he said we were never going to go again!!! I'm so excited!!! Does anyone know if it is busy in October? We are staying at the Pop Century, is it nice there?

We went in October and there were no crowds at all (it was after 9/11). I can highly recommend MNSSHP and don't be afraid to dress up (anything goes- scary or nice).

I would think that half-term will be fairly busy but other than that it should be quiet.

Pop is a fab hotel, lively, bright and fun! :goodvibes

It's busy but manageable. It's a great time to go. The weather is usually really nice, hot during the day and sometimes cool in the evening.

Persuade your Dad to buy tickets for MNSSHP, it's really great fun.

What a great Dad! :thumbsup2

October is a lot busier than it used to be (the International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at MK are both hugely popular), but it's still a great time to visit. You're almost guaranteed great weather - hot, but not too humid and not too much rain.

It's possible to be at WDW at any time of year and experience completely different crowd levels from someone else visiting at the same time by using effective strategies - arriving at the parks early (if you can't manage it for the entire trip, at least do so for the first few days when you'll be awake early), making the most of FASTPASS and avoiding EMH days.

We were there last October for half-term. It was a little busier at weekends but really nothing to worry about. During the week it was pretty quiet. Universal was virtually deserted. We easily did that and Islands of Adventure in one day. In Disney we rarely had to queue more than 20 minutes for anything. I remember getting to AK shortly after opening and doing Everest 3 or 4 times in rapid succession. A combination of early arrival and fastpassing meant we covered an awful lot. Don't trust those wait times - go up and ask at the gate. We would walk straight onto some rides that were displaying 20 min waits. I would thoroughly recommend October/November. The weather was fabulous with only half a day of rain in two weeks. Just be aware that one of the water parks usually goes into rehab in that time-frame so it's worth finding out which one and making sure you catch it before closure if possible.

October is the perfect month to go, ideal weather/manageable crowds plus plenty going on at the parks too.

If we could choose when to go it would be October.
