Just checked the hours for our week (9/19-26) and see that the hours have been updated, for the upteenth time, this time for the better (maybe to make up for water park closings!)

I see now that MK is open til 10pm on Sat the 20th, with a second Spectro show added - Woohoo! That gives us pelnty of time to get from Chef Mickey's to MK (I thought it was going to be tight).

Also, on Wed the 24th, park now open til 8 - maybe fireworks? Doesn't say so yet, but what do you think the chances are?

That's todays changes . . . stay tuned!

Yipee!!!
The one day I do not obsessively look up the park hours they change them.
Now I do not feel so bad not having any e-nights!

Often, those last minute hours changes mean the bookings are up. I'd prefer that wasnt the case, but it will be fine anyway. Now maybe if they'd offer a Spectro during the week, then those Sat nights wouldn't be so packed... ;)

bibbidi - -

You are way ahead of us - so let us know how the crowds look while you're there! Also - give us an update on the rain situation.

The last time I was there in Sept., (1997) they also added a Spectro and crowds were not bad at all, so we shold be fine.

Any ideas from any dis-ers as to whether the later closing on the 24th means FITS?

you betcha!

I bet there will be FITS on that Wednesday.

disobsessed ,

I am glad to see that they have added another Sectro for 9/20 hopefully it will not be too crowded.

We are also staying at the AKL 9/20 - 9/27.

Having a second Spectro is really nice. Last year I had gone in December and we went to the second showing, it was great, not crowded at all. I do think that people with younger children prefer to go to the first parade and then leave after the fireworks.

D'oh!!!

We're there the 18-23rd and I guess we'll miss the fireworks at Ohana, our ressie for dinner is for 8:20...or do you think we'll still be eating at 10 when they have the fireworks? This is our first time to Ohana and really wanted to see FITS from there. Should I try for a later ressie???

I think that's the only night we're there that they'll have FITS...I wish they'd keep the park open till at least 8 every other night :(

Edited: DOH again! Well I checked the show schedule and it says this:
Share a Dream Come True Parade 3:00pm

SpectroMagic 8:00pm, 10:00pm

Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks 9:00pm

so we should still be okay, I hope LOL

We'll also be at AKL September 20-27. All these changes in park hours are really exciting me...I'd love to see Spectro and then watch FITS on Wednesday. I think it's bound to be less croweded than Saturday night would have been. :D

20th is when i arrive. Though it's a long trip from England. The plan will be to go to the parks on arrival. Even though I'll have been up from the local equivalent of 1am!

Last time I was over in September 2001 I entered Magic Kingdom whilst the first showing of Spectromagic was on. In order to let guests get to the other end of Main Street they opened up a chunk of backstage. Walked up the backstage right hand side of Main Street and came out by the Tomorrowland theatre. Whilst it was nothing spectacular to look at it was nonetheless nice to have a peek.

Looks like a lot of Dis'ers at the AKL the same week!! I'll be looking for some lime green!

That's funny that you mention about the backstage. I am planning on eating at 5:45 at Chef Mickey's and then heading over to MK from the CR. (Probably around 7-7:30) and was thinking how crowded it would be trying tog et back to tomorrowland so we can ride during the first showing and see the second. Maybe they'll open it up. How early do they stop running the railroad? Maybe if I get over there in time, I can just take the rr around the park?
