WOOHOO just bought an rv...

we just bought an rv. it's small and old but runs great ..it was made it 1972 so the intierer is 1972! but I am going to redo it all...any tips? thanks Linda,

it's a dodge el derodo ..the inside is in good shape needs paint and some kind of flooring maybe lanolium...but it's the fabric that is bad the cushions are good just need to be recovered ..the curtins umm there isn't any...really i am not a seamstrist but I need to cover these cushions and the bottom of the queen bed that sits above the cab ..it's the board that is in between the rv part and the cab so i need to figure out how to redo it...are there any covers already made for cushions like these?..thanks Linda

I know how fun it is to decorate a camper, I'm still buying this-and-that for mine, well I wish I had something fantastic to tell you about covering your cushions but I don't , I was just going to tell you, you could use some throw blankets and pillows, they have done wonders for mine. Congrats...you'll have so much fun.

Our first RV about 10 years ago was exactly as you described. It was given to us for FREE, so we did'nt have too many qualms about fixing it up a bit. We did several things to update it. We removed flooring and installed new linoleum. We took out all of the upholstered pieces (couch, booth cushions) and had the local upholsterer guy re-do them all. I am a seamstress so I made all the curtains, etc. It took a little while, but was well worth it. I know that all that retro stuff is coming back around, but honestly, they did not look that great after 30 years and we were very happy with the end results of our project. Good luck!

yeah I know the reto is making a come back but after 30 some years it is not in its best glory LOL ....the back of the cushions have like a vinele stuff and seems durable but I can't spend that much on haveing someone else redoing them I ahve to do it myself ...so I have NO clue waht to do? thanks Linda

Congratulations on your purchase. We have an RV and we aren't sure if we want to get a new one or redo our old one. I think that although retro is coming back, that fiixing up the RV would really add a lot.

I am excited also, we just got us a 29' TT, took our first camping trip to Emerald Isle, Loved it, even DH agreed we were saving tons of Money.
Now i just need to talk him into a Disney Camping Trip.
He said i was gonna have to learn how to pull TT , because he hates to drive, and boy did he get frustated on the 4 hr. drive to EI, so we will see, honestly i am scared to death to try!!!!
