I've been checking and checking and had just about given up hope for a price drop. When I checked this morning, there were exactly 3 seats available at the sale rate of $79. I rebooked it from a total of $458 down to $263. that in combination with the $69 rate I got for our return leg has saved us a total of $420 from our original booking price!!

Now to see if I can talk SWA into refunding that difference to my CC.

If not, then it's time to start planning our next trip!!!

If so, then what oh what can I spend this money on???

Congrats! It's just another reason why I love SWA!! I've been checking at least once a day for price drops but I don't know if I should expect any more big price drops because of a piece on the news the other day. They were talking about gas prices and that even SWA fares would be going up!

Guess it's time for you to be planning your next WDW trip!! :sunny:

Just when you think you know a lot....there is someone who knows something you don't!
Please tell me, how do you know there were only three seats available for the price?

Tammy

I always check for a single ticket first, then if it is available, I check for the three that I need. After I made the change, I went back and checked for a single ticket again and there was no availability at the discounted rate for my flight. From that I have to assume that I got the last three discounted seats.

One of the many reasons I love SWA. I booked 4 tix for our August trip @ 1046 dollars. I've since been able to change and now have a 424 dollar credit. Can't wait until the schedule opens up again and I can use that credit for our November and December trips!

If you have not made any changes to your intinerary and just rebooked at lower fares, you should be able to get the credit put back on your credit card. I was able to get about half of mine credited because they were just lower fare rebookings. If you made any changes, you wont be able to. Call the customer service number (not the 800 number) and see what they say.

When I posted a while back you responded that you would be on the look out. Glad to see your search diligence yielded results!

What do you think about our '06 Pats? I am superstitious so I was NOT happy to see the guys from ESPN pick 'em to go to the Super Bowl! We've firmed up our plans for the one-allotted Pre-Season game that the guys let the wives go to... I'll be heading to Foxboro August 19 to see them play Arizona... maybe Leinart will play...???

Anyway, back on topic, SWA rocks!!! :cool1:  :cool1:

Did you all get the SW email this morning?? Book by July 27 for travel August 17 through October 1, 2006, down to $59 ea. way!!! (at least for my dates they are!)

I got that email as well. My flights are already sold out at the $59 rate. Guess I'll have to suffer with the $69 outbound and $79 return fares that I got. :teeth:

I am a little concerned though that the latest sale runs through July 27th. does that mean they wont release another set of sale fares until this one is done? Usually the sales only run a few days.

I just changed my reservation this morning for Aug 19th from MDW returning Aug 27th and saved 200.00. The airfare is now 69.00 each way.
I'm leaving the credit with SouthWest so that it will force us to rebook another trip.
I also have a credit of 130.00 since I changed our Vegas vacation to Disney and the airfare to Disney was cheaper. Why Vegas? We tried to plan something different but none of us felt good about it so we're going back to Disney again and thrilled about the change.

I paniced and booked on continental two months ago. should have waited our flight times, but out of philly are almost the same, and could of saved us over four hundred dollars. live and learn. I thought there were going to be no sales with the gas prices. next year I will wait. congrats to everyone flying on swa. going in august, cant wait

I want to rebook our return flights at the better time that has now opened up at the $59 rate but don't have either of the credit cards originally used in front of me. Do I need them or can I just change the flights without them? Please, anyone?? LOL

No, all you need is the reservation confirmation number and then go to travel center on the SWA site and then click on change reservation.
Lucky you, our flights are sold out for the $59.00, but I was able to get $69.00 each way during the last sale. A far cry from the $122 we originally booked back in April. :teeth:

Good luck :wizard:

What's the best way/procedure to get a refund for the difference? Can I do it online or must I call?

I've never flown with Southwest before so I haven't got a clue what to do.

Do I cancel and rebook? Do I 'make a change'?

Thanks!

:wizard: Thanks!! I got the flights changed and it was much easier than I thought it would be. Our price only went down a little because they were still $59 flights but by getting a direct flight home, we save on some fees, etc. I was happier about getting a later flight though. LOL When we first booked, the 3:45 flight were already sold out. Now they are open again! Woo Hoo!! :-) I hated the thought of leaving the magic behind so early in the morning. LOL :cool1: Rebecca

I must say I'm not as lucky as you.. :confused3
Our first airline was Delta, paid for in January for our August trip, they changed it from a nonstop to layover, we got our money refunded and booked with SWA nonstop for KC 591 dollars total. This was July 1st, just a couple of minutes ago I received an email that they have lowered the prices from several cities, I check KC-Orlando on our dates and now the price is 471 dollars for us three. So, hoping that maybe...I call and ask if it can be price adjusted but umm..nope, we'd have to cancel our reservation, keep it as credit for future trips and rebook and pay more :rotfl: ...nope, still it was cheaper the Delta but $120 more could have been used @ WDW ;)

Woaw, can you go online and change the reservation and get money refunded :yay: I know I should have read the posts prior duh!

Please PM me on how to do this, I work nights and haven't gotten any decent sleep in the last 48 hours, I'm seeing double typing, we've never been on any SWA-flights before, help!! :rotfl:

I love these boards, thank you for letting me know how to do this, the expertis is excellent on the DIS-boards

We now have 120 dollars credit for future travel :woohoo:

No PM needed, there were still flights available, same day, same time

I'm going to have some sweet dreams now ;)
