YAY!! I just came back from going out to eat with my mom and I have good news (for me anyways...lol, keep reading if you care to). Anyway, I ended up dropping out of high school last year, because I was really behind in my classes from being out of school so much, and not to mention, going to my high school was rally hard for me because I was always being terrorised and stuff by people that didn't like me. So, this year, I was planning on getting a waiver from the school board for permission to go to my town's local community college. Well, the problem was, I had no transportation from anyone with my parents working all the time, and I couldn't even drive myself, because of the law we have in North Carolina about kids not being able to get their permits or liscences when they are not in school. But, moving on, while my mom and I were sitting there munching away on hot wings (yummy, lol), an old friend of mine and her family came in the same restaurant. On our way out, I decided to go over and speak, because of the fact I hadn't seen any of them in a long time. They were very happy to see me, and asked me how everything was going. I told them I was okay, and that I had plans to go back to school this year. When her mother asked me where, she was surprised to hear me say the college, because I was going to be there before most people my age, so I explained to her what had happened. She then told me that she was very happy to here that, and that she hoped to see me there. I asked her how that would be possible, and she told me she had recently taken a job there in Building C teaching history. She told me that if I ever needed help while I was there, I could always come and see her. Before we said goodbye to each other, my friends father quickly asked if I had my liscence or permit yet. I told him that, no, I didn't because of that law we have here, and that even if I have to walk to school, I'm gonna get there. They both laughed, and seemed happy that I was so determined to finish high school. We said goodbye, and as I turned to walk away, Ms. Amerson (my friend's mom) called me back over and offered to give me a ride to school every day, since she worked at the college I was going to be going to! I gave her a HUGE hug and a thank you, and then told her I would call once I got registered!! I'm soooo excited about this...I was really worried about not being able to find a ride to school every day, and having to walk...'cause my parents can't take me when they work, I don't know anyone who goes to school there that could take me, my town is so small that we have no public transportation like buses, and the school is about five or more miles away so I would have to leave fairly early to get there in time.
Oh...I also just found out from another friend that after being at the college for ninety days, I can get a letter from the school giving me permission to take drivers ed. Ah, looks like life is looking up for once...
