WooHoo! Booked REAS- no ressie rush!

I'm so excited!!! I finally convinced my DH that we should book the REAS package. Now we don't have to worry about doing the ressie rush. We sailed on the Magic 2 years ago and didn't have a problem getting reservations, but we were also traveling by ourselves, with other adults. This time we will be traveling with our DD (10) and DS (8), who do not enjoy running around and waiting in line. Wasn't sure I could still book the REAS so close to our sailing date (June 12th), but everything worked out. Deb in dining is FANTASTIC to work with!!!! Can't wait to have a magical time.

I convinced him to do the massage. He was more worried about me and the massage since the ship doesn't have any massage products they can use on me that don't contain nut oils. I just told him that I would bring my own oil and he didn't need to worry about it.

I would concur is was good to make the REAS reservations (for 7/31 cruise) - talked with the famous Debbie - told her I'd read about her - also did reservations for Tea and Brunch and picked the dining rotation (for what it's worth).

Has anyone had dinner twice at Palo's - I thought about checking in on the cruise for cancellations (and we don't mind eating late)

REAS was so dreamy -- you won't regret it! I thought it was worth every penny. It really made my DH feel very special. And it made the whole cruise much more relaxing.

What is included in REAS and can you book it through a TA or only through DCL?

Debbie is JUST GREAT! We picked our Palo's reservation and made the massage appt. (We're hoping I can convince hubbie, if not...)

You CANNOT book the Palo's brunch on a 4-day. We will need to do the ressie rush if we want this. Debbie will also try to get us the main seating (which we are on waiting list for) for our dining.

Again, if you can, ask for Debbie.

DW and I booked the REAS for our May 22 Western Caribbean cruise. One of the main reasons was so we wouldn't have to worry about the ressie rush and also to pick our dining rotation. APLAPLA was pretty important to us as it made more sense to be in Lumiere's on Formal and Semi-Formal nights and to be in Parrot Cay on Mexicali.

I got the famous Debbie when I called and I agree she was great to work with.

I do recommend you call before leaving to verify your information. Debbie suggested I do but I forgot with all the craziness before we left. Well, we got a different rotation than we requested so there went not having to worry about getting in a line as soon as we boarded the ship. While there, we checked all our other reservations to make sure they were correct. Our friends who booked a REAS too had a mistake on one of their reservations.

We also found the confirmation for our couple's massage in our room was set for 9:15 PM instead of AM. A phone call cleared it up as just a typo but we shouldn't have had to worry about any of this as the early reservations was one of the reasons we paid for the package.

Overall, we are glad we did it as everything turned out good in the end after the few hiccups to start.

Also, one thing you might want to consider for the couple's massage that we didn't think about... we made our reservation for the last day at sea with the intent of getting us good and relaxed before flying home and getting back into the grind. We didn't realize how sunburned we would be at that point from all the snorkeling we did and it caused the massage to be a little uncomfortable for DW!
