I would like to find a good wooden playhouse for my 4 year old dd. She currently has a plastic one that was handed down but she is outgrowing it.

Can anyone recommend a good, quality playhouse? I don't know if I should spend a lot to get a bigger, shed style she can use for years or go with a smaller, less expensive style.

We are in the northeast and it's hard finding a good company to deal with.

I like the look of the cedar, bayberry house by the company big backyard, but it looks so tiny. Any opinions or experiences would be great!

Thanks very much.

I would recommend finding a used large wooden set on Craigslist. By large, I mean large enough for adults to climb and swing on too. We found a great Rainbow Playset on Craigslist for less than a quarter of the cost of a new one, and it has many many many years of life left in it. Myself, my 250lb husband and my 3 year old can all climb and swing on it together at the same time. It's a beast.

If you do get a wooden swing set, be prepared to battle carpenter bees and to stain it every other year or so which can be a pain.
