Woo-Hoo!! Leavin' for the Fort tomorrow!

Well, the ol' RV is just about packed... the GEM Car & bikes are ready to go on the trailer, and I'm getting excited!

We will be pulling into FtW about 1pm tomorrow.

On Friday, I'm picking NTSammy5 up at Orlando Airport at 10am - so you can bet I've got plenty of beer for him!

I'm going to try & get in the 1700 or 1600 loop, if possible. If not, we'll take what we can get....it's all good! We're bringing the laptop & will try to hit a WiFi spot so I can post our site # & any pictures as the days progress.

I know BigDaddyRog will be at FtW during our trip, so we're going to try and hunt him down. I really hope we run into him & his family!

You can bet that I'm going to go in search of "otters" & try to get some pictures of them. I may have to break down and rent one of the little boats & go on an "otter seeking excursion"!!

The only bad thing about FtW is your time getting there seems like an eternity, and your time staying there just flies by! Such is life!!

If you don't hear from me in the next 10 days, just know that I couldn't find a "hot spot"!

Have a great time. I just got back on Sunday after a weeklong visit, and can't wait for my next trip!

See my thread on wheelchairs on the marina boats...if you get a chance scope it out and see if wheelchairs are still allowed on. Report back if you can after your trip.

Yeah.... I saw that thread. I've camped at FtW a LOT in the past 34 years, and the only time I recall wheelchairs being "banned" from the large launches is during times of drought when the water level of Bay Lake is so low that it makes rolling a wheelchair on to the boat, dangerous. The only other times are when the lake is too choppy. The little launches are not capable of accepting wheelchair riders unless they can transfer to a seat & fold up the wheelchair. The small launches generally provide transportation between FW, WL & CR. The large launches provide transportation to WL & MK except during peak periods when they do not stop at WL, but go straight to the MK. If the boats are not able to accomodate you, you should be able to take a bus to the Outpost & catch a bus to any of the parks. If you need to go to another resort, you generally need to take a bus from the Outpost to a park or Downtown Disney, and transfer to the resort bus you need.

I hope this helps - and I will look for any signs that state otherwise for you!
