Hi everyone! I just love these boards!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just got an upsell from POP to POR !!

I had called a couple times to try and upgrade to CSR since we had stayed there before, but they were just quoting the same price as on the website.

This time, a wonderful CM (Thanks Danielle! You made my day :yay: :yay: ) looked around for me and said she had an offer for POR for an additional $36 for my 5 day MYW package!

Just wanted to share with everyone that there is still pixie dust to be had !pixiedust:

Now I have to change my sig and do lots more research!

kdeachilla,

I didn't know either till I started reading these boards! Do a search in this forum, and you'll get lots of info. Essentially, it's a special offer that WDW offers to try and get you to upgrade your resort, but not for full price. I upgraded from 5 days at POP to 5 days at POR for only about $7 per nite! I had looked at CSR a couple times and that was going to be about $70 per night, so I was really happy when she offered !:yay:

I've called about half a dozen times "fishing" for one of these and didn't luck out until today!

Sorry, just realized I didn't answer your second question! I'm not sure if you could or not, but probably your AAA agent would have to call...maybe someone else out there has better info.

woww, great!! Can you tell tha dates of your reservation? Thanks, VERO.

When calling Disney, what or how do you ask them about this? Just thinking you wouldn't want to say the word upsell! Thanks!

Our reservation is for Aug 21-26, right before free dining

Actually, I think I did mention upsell!! I said that I was thinking about upgrading to a moderate, but didn't really want to pay the extra $350 or so and asked if they had any better offers. I had inquired about this a couple times before, but they're weren't any offers. So it pays to keep trying!

I would have been perfectly happy at POP, but the refrigerator will be nice:) . My DH really likes boats, so I think the location on the river with the boat to DD will be nice too.

I would have never thought about even trying this before reading about all the wonderful things on these boards! I can't believe we did WDW so many times before finding these ! :disrocks:

Thats awesome!

We are staying at BWI next month and I have called several times already to inquire if any Boarwalk views have opened up...no upsells for me though.

How do you go about doing this?

I may sound like a total idiot, but what is an upsell and can I call to get one even if my trip was booked through a AAA travel agent?

Thanks!!

Upsell is when you get an offer to upgrade your resort for an additional price. Usually a pretty good price. for example if you are staying at the CBR for $100/night and the offer you an upsell to the WL for $125.00/night. You get to jump a resort category for 25.00 bucks/night

Thanks for the info, but do you know if it's available if you've booked through AAA?

Yes, but it really is the luck of the draw. When we were first planning this trip, I called Disney directly a few times. On one of the calls they offered me an upsell from Pop to POFQ but I didn't realize what a good deal it was until I hung up and worked the numbers. By the time I called back, it was too late. They can only offer it to you if it pops up on the screen. I then called AAA on several occasions for quotes and finally got one that had the same deal. Needless to say, I booked with her.

So to answer your question, Yes--it's available but you might have to do some work to get it. Good luck!

booooo just called and no pixie dust! Will try again when it gets closer...and more importantly...keep my eyes open for FL resident codes!
