Won't be able to make FP for 1 day until we start our trip, help w strategy!

So I think I discovered one of the downsides of ordering tickets through a reseller. I bought a 5 day ticket and want to upgrade to a 6 day ticket, I thought I would just do this at the park but then I realized that I would only be able to make 5 days worth of FPs. Called Disney, they can't do anything because they were from a reseller. Called the reseller, they can't do anything because they were e-tickets and there is no way to return them back into their inventory. Overall I am still happy with the money I saved but no I need to figure out what to do.

Our trip is Sat-Sat in early Nov, I will upgrade our tickets on the first day of the trip. We will do MK and EP twice, AK & HS once. We have 3 boys so no princess stuff. Which scenario do you think it best?

1. Make 60 day FP for Sun-Thursday. Finalize FP for Friday (likely MK) on the 1st day of our trip. This is a MVMCP night so we will have to leave by 6 but could take advantage of morning EMH.
2. Make 60 day FP for MK, EP, AK. Make HS FP on the 1st day of our trip. Will likely rope drop this park to do Jedi sign-ups and will stay (or come back) for Star Wars fireworks at 6:45.
3. WILDCARD - Reconsider attending MVMCP and hang out at YC SAB in the morning/afternoon. This was my original plan for the 6th day but my kids don't care so much about character visits and I am not sure they would be super excited about the parade. They also can't hang much past 9ish, I would push them but my DH is strongly against staying out much past nine. (It will kill me to go to the party and miss the fireworks) Also, I was not able to get a RO discount so it was harder to justify the extra expense even though we can comfortably afford it.

Thoughts??

If Disney can't do anything now are you sure they will be able to add it on when you get there?

I would go with Option #1. Add the additional day when you arrive and book your MK FPs at that time.

Yes, based on the information on the "All About WDW Tickets" sticky on this thread I should be able to.

Option 1 or 2 will work fine. With the possible exception of 7DMT, you should have no trouble picking up FP+ for anything at MK or HS. Even 7DMT isn't as hard to get as it once was.

Option 1 or 2 for sure. You will be able to get almost any attraction 5 days out except 7DMT.

I would do option 1 or just not make your last day of FP (unless it's AK and you are going for Pandora rides), then just make the FP after you upgrade your ticket. We just upgraded 3rd party tickets in July with no issues. We booked all of the FP for the first part of the trip and then booked the rest after we had upgraded. The except was the days we wanted to do the Pandora rides in AK. It worked out well. If your HS day is later in the trip, that would be a good day to wait on.

Thanks everyone, I think I will go with Option 1. We will ride 7DMT on the first trip through MK and will rope drop the last day so I don't anticipate any issues. FP window opens tomorrow, yippee!

I'm glad you got this figured out. It's stressful.
This is exactly why I don't buy from resellers or secondary anything. I buy direct. It's worth the few extra bucks to me.
