We are seniors and have been members since DVC started. We love Disney and still enjoy our membership. We don't go to the parks very often because we feel they are too expensive for the way we use the tickets. We can't walk as far or for as long as we use to, and don't like the crowds or lines. We love to,people watch though, and soak in the happiness! . I would love it if Disney would offer a half day ticket and were wondering about your thoughts on this? We would love to be able to go to Epcot in the evenings for several hours to walk around the world. Or walk through the shops at the magic Kingdom. i really don't think we'd stay in a park more than 3 hours before wanting to go back to our room. I miss the parks and would, love to enjoy them in a limited way, but just can't justify the ticket price for a few hours of use. Does, anyone else, think a half day senior ticket would be good??

I like the idea but I don't think it will happen. It would not be a money maker.

I think there are many of us that can't stay in the parks all day anymore so just don't go at all. we really do enjoy relaxing at the DVC resorts though. We love walking thru downtown Disney too. I just wish there was an alternative to an all day ticket:). Maybe someday...who knows;)

I agree, bring back the old days where for $6.95 you had park admission and you bought your a, b, c... tickets if you wanted to ride.

APs are still worth it for us, and we do only a few things in a park on any given day.

I like your idea, but do not have hope it would be implemented!

Would it be good? Yes.

It would bring people to the parks who either can't afford to go, or (as in your case) think park admission is more expense than it is worth to them. And, those people would buy things in Disney shops, buy food and drinks, etc, and generate additional revenue for Disney that they are not getting now.

But would Disney do it? I don't think so, because it would not generate enough additional revenue for the Mouse/Rat.

Disney doesn't care about seniors, or anyone else who doesn't want to pay $100 per day for a park ticket. They care about money...period.

They DO have an "Epcot After 4 PM" pass for Florida residents, but not for other guests.

I honestly think they don't care -- I think they want us to come on their terms, or don't come at all. It's just business.

If they let you in at rope drop with a half day ticket, how would they make sure that you left at the appropriate time?

Have you looked into buying a 10 day non-expiration ticket? It is expensive upfront, but you could use a few days each year, and spread the cost between multiple years.

I'm thinking OP meant second half of the day....

I like this idea, but it's probably not going to happen. Have you written to Disney?

I was going to suggest that you skip a trip and rent out your points and then buy APs with that money the following year, but I like the suggestion of 10 day non-expiring tickets. You could use those for three or four years.

Good luck.

I think offering an after-4 ticket for senior citizens is a great idea. Until it would happen though, I think the 10-day non-expiring is an excellent compromise. That would really reduce the per-day cost.

They should extend that "Epcot after 4" pass to DVC members.
I would like to see that, and a Senior after-4 pass as well. And I don't have anything to gain; I live in Miami, so I"m already eligible for the Florida resident deals.

But if you think about the economics of it, it ain't gonna happen. The Florida resident after-4 pass is aimed directly at people who live in the Orlando area in an attempt to draw them into Epcot for dining and shopping. These are people who ordinarily wouldn't go to Disney on a regular basis.

DVC owners, and Seniors who don't live in the Orlando area are already there for WDW. They already have some level of park admission, so creating after-4 passes for them really wouldn't do a thing except draw away from park ticket and annual pass sales. For example, they might get base park tickets and only go to Epcot in the afternoon/evening, thereby decreasing park hopper sales.

I think DVC owners will have to be content with the AP discount, and hope it continues.

How many days per year do you stay on site at WDW? My Mom was 68 when we purchased DVC, but we usually went to Disney 2x a year for 8 to 9 nights per trip. We rarely spent all day in a park, but APs were still worth it for us.

We are seniors but not DVC owners. We used to buy AP's, now we are working on two sets of non-ex tickets. One set is a hopper and one set is one park per day. We bought these over two years ago, since then the prices have gone up twice. We used UT as our ticket vendor. We are big DCL fans and cruise twice a year, and then stay at the resorts for a short stay pre or post cruise. DH requires a scooter for Epcot, so we just take our time.
We would also love the 1/2 day tickets, but that's not going to happen.

I agree that an After 4 pass for senior DVC members would be a great option but also agree that it won't happen.

We have non-expiring parks hoppers that we won't use because it's hard to wrap our minds about blowing a day/ticket just to go into a park to walk around for a couple of hours or have a meal. I know it sounds nuts but we buy APs with the DVC discount and it "feels" like we've been given a free pass to do whatever we want to do whenever we want. It's all about perception. :3dglasses

Pretty easy with all the scanners installed at the rides the days. Ski areas have managed morning passes for years,

Bur would they? Nio.
