Wondering about crowds when Easter is VERY early (like 2005)

I know that generally WDW is packed at Easter. I know that many schools and colleges schedule spring break to coincide with Easter. In our area spring break has nothing to do with Easter, so I was wondering if, when Easter comes early if many schools will still have a weeklong (or more) break, or if they will wait and have their main "spring break" later in April.

Not sure if that question is clear, but maybe it makes sense to someone and they can provide some insight! We are considering going Sunday - Wednesday BEFORE Easter next year and thought maybe, just maybe it would not be wall-to-wall since it would be March 20th......maybe there would be more people on break the week following Easter?

I think you'll still find the heavy crowds throught March (pretty much from the 2nd week right through to Easter). I don't think many schools will adjust their spring break schedules-- some I'm sure but I don't think it's going to be the majority.

Just plan on large crowds.

You would probably be OK to go the first week of March but after that I think it will be pretty crowded until the first of May.

Sorry, I don't understand what you are saying. I am talking about schools that typically break in April, and tie that in with Easter. Are you saying that you don't think that schools will change from breaking in April to coincide with Easter?

My thought was schools might not be able to make their breaks so early, as usually you have a logical point during the term and if you, for example, have an 18 week term it is problematic to take the break after only 6 or 7 weeks.

While busy most of spring, there is generally a significant increase the week before and after Easter when that holiday falls in April. I am just trying to get an idea of how Easter being so early will affect the crowds the week before Easter in 2005.

I think there was a thread a week or so ago that listed Spring Break dates. They ranged from 3/7 - thru 4/29. You could probably do a search and find the thread.

We just got back from WDW on June 20. We are already planning next trip. We were thinking the last week of April. Is it going to be crowded? I really want to go when crowds are low but we can't afford to go as soon as Jan or Feb! (unless rates are really cheap then!)When does peak season begin??? Should we wait till May? Or try and go late feb?

I teach at a public school in Central NY. Schools don't take the same vacations statewide, but it seems as though the vacations are always within a week of each other. For example, this past Easter my district had off the week before Easter, whereas the neighboring district gave the following week off.

I just checked our school calendar for next year, and we're having a Superintendent's Conference on Good Friday but otherwise have no vacation days until April 18-22.
