Just got back late last week from a stay at BCV. This was our second stay there, other than a single night a few years ago.
The resort was beautiful. Can't beat that pool! I have little ones and thought I would miss the child's sand bottom pool but didn't miss it a bit. The small sand play area near the main pool area was all my DD needed and close enough that I could see my DS come down the slide! Lots of pool entertainment going on for the kids. Raolf, I believe is his name, was organizing the pool games. He also did the movies/bonfire on the beach. I remember him from a few years back. Very nice, friendly man. Also saw Art-another familiar face! Crowds at the pool was minimal--non-existent at the quiet/villa pools.
We stayed in a 2br dedicated with the queen/pullout. Sofa was fine for DS. My sister was with us and had planned to sleep on the pullout in the living room but we tried and tried and couldn't get it open. I knew it wasn't "us" as we had pulled out the bed in the 2nd br no problem. Called maintenance and they were there within minutes. Took two guys to pull it out. To avoid having to call each night, my sister just slept with my DS. I hope they fix it once we left. There were a few other things I noticed in the room--a mug had lipstick on it (yuck) but I know how hard it is to get lipstick off cups--even after a dishwasher run. The TV in the living room could only be turned off with the remote since the off button on the TV had been pushed in too far. Other than those few things, the place was spotless. We did have a large bag of trash that needed to be emptied. I had no idea what to do with it. Our trash day was two days away. I saw housekeeping in the hall and asked her where the garbage shoot was. She told me to just leave it in the hallway and she would take it. Now, I have read some pretty nasty posts on here about people leaving trash bags in the hallway. I told her to please just tell me where to take it. I actually begged her in fear that someone would see my trash outside our room and call me out here on the boards! I reluctantly left it and it was gone by the time we left our room. Where do you all put your trash???
Crowds were minimal although I did follow TGM's green days. A must if you are going during the busier months. Most standby lines were 20minutes or less. I did notice longer lines in the late afternoons for the bigger rides. Used FP whenever possible which made getting on rides a breeze. CM were very helpful and happy as usual. Restaurants were full but I did overhear Coral Reef and Spoodles take walkins with a 10-15 minute wait for a party of 4.
If you are looking for a bargain at any resort/park or DTD shop--now is the time! Everything, I mean everything, was at least 25% off. Some even 30% off. All toys, clothing, jewelry, collectibles, crocs etc. I did not notice if pins were on sale. I don't believe princess gowns were on sale either. That is the first time I have ever seen a sale at WDW!
My sister and I ran in the Royal Family 5K run. I would not have been able to afford our stay if paying for the resort room. DVC has allowed me to do such things that I would normally have had to pass on. We are all very lucky people! Now, if I can just talk my DH into an add on at BCV...
